The Yard Gym Franchisor offers a structured training program to ensure franchisees and their management teams are well-prepared to operate a Franchised Gym effectively. The training is divided into several distinct components:
Initial Training Program This is launched after the franchisee signs a lease for the approved location. It includes both live sessions at an operational gym and pre-recorded modules. At least one Primary Owner and one management-level employee must attend. The training covers business operations and coaching fundamentals necessary to manage the gym.
Business Operations Training This module provides instruction in areas like induction processes, front-of-house operations, and social media management. It combines classroom and on-the-job training and is scheduled to begin within 90 days of lease signing.
Coach Training This module focuses on the company’s fitness class goals and how to train personal trainers in communication, motivation, and technical skills to ensure quality service for clients.
Territory Protection
The Yard Gym offers limited territory protection to its franchisees. While the Franchisor commits not to open or authorize another Network Gym within the assigned Territory of a franchisee, this protection only applies to physical gym locations.
The franchisee does not receive exclusivity over clients who live or work in that Territory, meaning those individuals may choose to frequent any other Network Gym.
Additionally, the Franchisor reserves several rights within a franchisee’s Territory. These include operating in “Nontraditional Venues” like malls, airports, and hotels, or converting acquired competitors into Network Gyms within the same Territory.
