Frequently Asked Questions
What is the royalty fee?
The royalty fee for a StarCycle franchise is 5.00%. In addition, you would have to pay the advertising (or national brand fund) fee of 2.00%.
What is the total investment?
The initial investment required for a StarCycle franchise is $240,000 - $465,000. That is the total cost you would need to finance if you were to start this franchise. These costs are provided by the franchisor in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
What is the initial franchise fee?
The initial franchise fee for a StarCycle franchise is $40,000. This is typically paid upfront as part of the total initial investment, after signature of the Franchise Agreeement.
StarCycle provides a well-defined training program to prepare franchisees and their staff for successful studio operations. Here’s a clear breakdown:
Initial Training Program StarCycle offers an Initial Training program for up to eight people, including owners and initial instructors, covering all aspects of studio operations. This training typically takes place at StarCycle’s designated facility, with all travel and living expenses paid by the franchisee.
Instructor Training Program Franchisees and their instructors must also complete a specialized Instructor Training on StarCycle methods, which may be held at the franchisor’s facility, on-site at the franchisee’s studio, or through home-based modules. If the training is held outside the standard program or at the franchisee’s studio, the franchisee pays current training fees plus all associated costs.
Ongoing and Re-Certification Training StarCycle may require additional or retraining sessions during the agreement term, covering new techniques, fitness programs, or operational updates. Franchisees are responsible for the costs of these programs, including trainer fees, subscriptions, and any required travel or accommodation.
Territory Protection
StarCycle grants franchisees a specific geographic territory once their studio site is approved, but this territory is not entirely exclusive. While StarCycle agrees not to open another StarCycle Studio using its marks within that territory as long as the franchisee is in good standing, the franchisor retains the right to compete through other channels like online platforms or competitive brands.
The size and shape of the territory depend on market variables, including demographics, household income, and natural or man-made boundaries. Franchisees must operate solely within their assigned territory and cannot market or advertise outside of it without prior written approval from StarCycle.
Additionally, although neighboring territories may overlap, no other StarCycle studio will be approved within a franchisee’s specific territorial boundaries. Importantly, StarCycle reserves all rights not expressly granted in the agreement, meaning they can still license studios outside the designated area regardless of proximity.
