Training

The franchisor offers a thorough training program for franchisees, encompassing:

Operations Training

A 4 to 6-day program conducted both virtually and in Virginia Beach, VA, covers essential aspects of running a Pool Scouts franchise. This training is mandatory for the franchisee and any Designated Manager before opening the business. There is no fee for the training itself, but franchisees must cover their own travel and lodging expenses.

Advanced Training and Meetings

The franchisor may host and require attendance at 1 to 2-day advanced training sessions or national/regional meetings aimed at enhancing business skills and profitability. These sessions are free, but franchisees are responsible for associated costs.

Comprehensive Training Program

This program lasts 5 to 9 days and includes both classroom and hands-on training. Topics covered include pool service industry knowledge, product knowledge, software overview, back-office setup, marketing strategies, call center operations, and technician recruitment.

Additional Training

If extra training is needed outside the regular schedule, it will be billed at $750 per day per trainee, plus travel expenses. This fee may change with notice.

Territory Protection

Franchisees receive an exclusive territory as outlined in Schedule A of the Franchise Agreement, which is determined based on factors like total population and target household demographics. Any changes to the territory require the franchisor's consent.

While franchisees are expected to operate primarily within their designated territory, they may provide services outside it under certain conditions, such as national or regional account agreements, or if the Designated Manager is incapacitated.

The franchisor maintains the rights to the internet and may sell products and services beyond the franchisee's territory. Franchisees are allowed to offer services within their territory according to the criteria specified in the Operations Manual.
