Eggspectation is a vibrant full-service restaurant brand offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and an all-day café-bar experience. Founded in 1993 in Montreal, Canada, the concept emerged from a passion for reinventing classic breakfast and brunch dishes in a stylish, casual environment.

Today, the brand is headquartered in Québec and has grown through franchising into both North American and international markets.

Eggspectation began offering franchise opportunities globally in 2016, providing entrepreneurs with a chance to operate under a proven concept with established systems.

What sets Eggspectation apart is its unique all-day dining model that blends specialty breakfasts such as crepes, waffles, and eggs Benedict with lunch and dinner menu items like burgers, seafood, and steak. The brand emphasizes fresh, high-quality ingredients, creative culinary twists, and a relaxed yet upbeat setting.

Training

Eggspectation provides a structured and comprehensive training program to ensure franchisees and their teams are well-prepared to run the restaurant according to brand standards. Below is an outline of the training and support offered by the Franchisor:

  1. Initial Management Training
Eggspectation offers an initial training program at no charge for the first Operating Principal, General Manager, and Kitchen Manager. However, the franchisee must cover the costs of travel, lodging, meals, and wages. If additional personnel need to be trained, a fee of $2,500 per person plus expenses applies. This training also includes guidance on staffing levels, employment application development, and staff recruitment strategies.
  2. Pre-Opening On-Site Training
For each of the first two restaurants opened, the franchisor provides two weeks of on-site pre-opening assistance. This includes training staff in menu item preparation, customer service, and operational procedures.
  3. Post-Opening Support
Following the opening, the franchisor provides one week of on-site assistance at the restaurant. This is available for the first two locations under an Area Development Agreement and may be offered for additional locations at the franchisor's discretion and the franchisee’s expense.
  4. Ongoing Evaluations and Support
Eggspectation conducts evaluations of the restaurant and its services to maintain high standards. This includes audits and feedback visits to ensure consistent quality, appearance, and service.

Territory Protection

Eggspectation offers a form of territory protection, though it is defined by the terms of the Franchise Agreement and not an absolute guarantee. Franchisees are granted an “Area of Primary Responsibility,” within which they must actively market and operate the restaurant.

While the franchisor may place limits on other franchisees or company-owned stores within this area, it reserves the right to approve or reject locations and to manage the overall system’s market presence.

The franchisor explicitly retains discretion over site approvals and does not guarantee exclusive rights to any geographic area unless specifically agreed upon. This means that although you may be the only Eggspectation restaurant in a certain zone, the franchisor can approve additional locations nearby if deemed appropriate.
