Southwest Greens provides a detailed training structure designed to prepare franchisees and their installation teams for successful business operations. The training is organized into the following programs:
Pre-Opening Training Program This program lasts approximately five days and includes both classroom and on-the-job training. Topics covered include site layout, drainage, turf installation, cup placement, customer service, and a visit to the turf manufacturing plant. The training occurs in Marietta and metro Atlanta, Georgia, or at another approved location, and up to three attendees are trained at no cost (excluding travel and lodging).
Opening Training Program Conducted over four to seven days, this hands-on training focuses on design, installation, and sales/marketing skills. It takes place either at the business premises or at a customer's installation site. A lead installer, who may be the franchisee or a principal, must complete this program to the franchisor’s satisfaction.
Training Standards and Requirements Franchisees must ensure that at least one lead installer completes both training programs within the specified time frames (90 days for pre-opening and 60 days post-opening). Failure to meet these deadlines may result in termination of the franchise agreement. An adequate number of certified lead installers must be maintained at all times.
Territory Protection
Southwest Greens does not offer an exclusive territory to its franchisees. Although each franchisee receives a defined territory based on population and climate, the franchisor retains the right to sell products and services through various channels, including the internet and corporate accounts, both within and outside the territory.
Franchisees are strictly prohibited from conducting business outside their assigned area, including marketing or selling to customers in other territories.
Despite this, Southwest Greens does establish some limitations to protect the operational scope of a franchisee. While other franchisees or the company itself may market in nearby or unassigned areas, they are restricted from placing another franchised outlet within an existing franchisee’s territory.
