Dryer Vent Squad Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Dryer Vent Squad is a home services franchise focused on dryer vent cleaning, repair, and maintenance to improve home safety and energy efficiency.

Founded in 2019 by entrepreneur Leo Goldberger, Dryer Vent Squad is a U.S.-based franchise specializing in dryer vent cleaning, repair, and maintenance services. Headquartered in Toms River, New Jersey, the company began franchising the same year and has since expanded across the country.

The franchise offers a focused range of services, including comprehensive dryer vent cleaning to eliminate hazardous lint buildup, along with inspections, installations, and repairs.

What distinguishes Dryer Vent Squad in the home services industry is its narrow but vital service niche. By concentrating solely on dryer vent systems, the company fills a critical safety gap in residential maintenance that is often neglected.

Training

Dryer Vent Squad provides a detailed training structure to prepare franchisees and ensure operational consistency across locations:

  1. Initial Training Program: The Managing Owner and one designated manager must attend and complete an initial training program within 28 days of the franchise opening. This program may be conducted in person at a designated location or remotely via online conferencing and includes classroom and on-the-job instruction. If more than two individuals attend, additional fees apply.
  2. System-Wide and Refresher Training: Franchisees and their managers may be required to participate in system-wide or refresher training sessions as determined by the Franchisor. These sessions can take place in-person or remotely and are aimed at reinforcing operational standards and updates. Franchisees are responsible for all travel and associated costs for attendance.
  3. Supplemental Training: If needed, the Franchisor may provide supplemental training either within the franchisee’s territory or remotely. This training is required in cases such as poor operational performance or when new managers are hired. Franchisees must prepay training fees, which include a daily trainer fee and travel reimbursements.

Territory Protection

Dryer Vent Squad grants its franchisees the right to operate within a defined "Operating Territory," which is clearly outlined in the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees are expected to conduct all business operations, marketing, and service delivery exclusively within this territory.

While the franchisee may serve corporate accounts and open areas under specific rules, any out-of-territory activity requires prior written consent from the Franchisor. Although this structure provides a defined territory, it is not strictly exclusive.

Franchisees are not allowed to directly solicit or target customers outside their assigned area, and any accidental outreach must be corrected if it extends beyond their boundaries.
