Archive Contents Restoration Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Archive Contents Restoration is a disaster-restoration franchise offering archival, document-and-media preservation and environmental-remediation services, serving institutions and businesses safeguarding assets, and known for niche expertise and B2B support.

Archive Contents Restoration operates within the disaster-recovery sector and specializes solely in restoring personal belongings after damage from fire, smoke, water, or mold. Founded in 2011 by Eric Ten Eyck in Santa Ana, California—where the company still maintains its headquarters—the business was established to address the highly technical, often overlooked work of contents restoration.

Before expanding into franchising, Archive worked as an independent service provider and noticed a significant gap in the broader restoration industry. While many restoration companies concentrate on repairing buildings and structural issues, few have dedicated systems or expertise for recovering individual items and personal property.

In response, Archive developed a franchise model designed specifically around contents recovery. The franchise opportunity was introduced in 2020, offering owners a comprehensive, ready-to-operate system in an insurance-driven market with consistent demand.

One of the standout features of Archive Contents Restoration is its specialized focus and its use of ClaimLoop, a proprietary software platform. This technology supports detailed inventory tracking, estimating, and claims coordination, allowing franchisees to manage projects more efficiently and accurately.

Training

ARCHIVE® provides a comprehensive training structure to ensure franchisees and their teams are well-prepared to operate the business. The training programs are as follows:

  1. Initial Training Program
Franchisees (or their principals) and designated managers are required to complete ARCHIVE®’s Initial Training Program to the franchisor’s satisfaction. This tuition-free training covers up to three participants if attended simultaneously and is held at the franchisor’s headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada or another designated location. Completion of this five-day program at least 45 days before opening is mandatory, with failure potentially resulting in termination of the agreement.
  2. Training of Additional Personnel
If additional employees need training, the franchisor may provide it upon request, subject to staff availability and the current training fee. All associated costs such as travel, lodging, and wages during training are the franchisee’s responsibility. Franchisees must use only franchisor-provided training materials, which remain proprietary and confidential.
  3. Ongoing and Refresher Training
The franchisor may require up to ten days of ongoing or refresher training each year to cover system updates or operational improvements. These sessions can be conducted online or in person, with attendance required for franchisees, designated managers, or other employees. Tuition for these sessions is charged at the current rate, and all related travel expenses must be covered by the franchisee.

Territory Protection

ARCHIVE® grants its franchisees a protected territory, referred to as the “Territory,” in which the franchisor agrees not to establish or license another ARCHIVE® business operating under the same system and proprietary marks.

This exclusivity applies to traditional business locations and is outlined in the franchisee’s Data Sheet, which may use demographic boundaries like zip codes or housing subdivisions to define the area. The protection remains effective as long as the franchisee complies with the terms of the agreement.

However, the franchisor and its affiliates retain the right to distribute products or services through alternate channels—including the internet—or to national accounts within the territory.
