Cookie Co. Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Cookie Co. specializes in freshly baked cookies with a variety of flavors and creative toppings, offering a delicious and indulgent treat for cookie lovers.

Cookie Co. is a fast-growing gourmet cookie franchise launched in 2020 in Redlands, California. The company was founded by Elise and Matt Thomas during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially selling signature recipes from their home kitchen via curbside pickup.

Franchising began in 2021 and expanded rapidly from its corporate office, now headquartered in Lehi, Utah. The first storefront opened in August 2020, and Cookie Co. officially began offering franchises on August 19, 2021. Corporate operations are managed from Lehi, Utah.

Cookie Co. sells fresh-baked, rotating gourmet cookies made with real butter, eggs, and cane sugar. It offers weekly menu rotations, occasional "Mini Mondays," and services like catering, shipping, and branded merchandise. The brand stands out with small-batch quality, unique flavors, and strong community engagement.

Training

Cookie Co. Franchise offers a comprehensive training program to equip franchisees with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully operate their business. The training is structured into three main programs:

  1. Initial Corporate Training (5 days)
At least 45 days before the store opening, the franchisee and general manager are required to attend a five-day, full-time training session at a designated corporate training facility. This program covers essential aspects such as recipe execution, kitchen operations, staffing procedures, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
  2. Pre-Opening Support
Although not always specified in detail, Cookie Co. typically provides pre-opening assistance that may include final store setup guidance, operational walkthroughs, and practice sessions for the team to ensure readiness for the grand opening.
  3. Ongoing Training and Support
After the store has launched, franchisees receive continuous support through scheduled calls, operational updates, and access to additional training materials. This ongoing support helps franchisees stay aligned with brand standards, adapt to new offerings, and optimize store performance.

Territory Protection

Cookie Co. Franchise does not guarantee exclusive territory protection to its franchisees. Franchisees are typically granted rights to operate at a specific approved location, but Cookie Co. reserves the right to establish additional franchised or company-owned outlets nearby, as long as they do not infringe on the exact site granted to the franchisee.

This means the franchisor can expand within the same general market area, which may lead to other Cookie Co. locations opening in close proximity.

While your individual store location is protected, broader geographic exclusivity is not part of the standard franchise agreement, so franchisees should carefully evaluate the local market and potential for internal competition before investing.
