AKT is a renowned chain of fitness boutiques that specializes in dance-based workouts, with its main office located in Irvine, California. This brand is part of the Exponential Fitness Inc. family, which also includes other well-known franchises like Cycle Bar and Club Pilates.
AKT studios provide a unique blend of dance-inspired cardio, strength training, toning exercises, and circuit training, creating an energetic and enjoyable workout experience for their members.
Established in New York City in 2013, AKT started offering franchise opportunities in 2018. By 2023, the franchise network had expanded to 36 locations across the United States.
Driven by a positive mindset and the conviction that movement can have a lasting impact, AKT has quickly become a popular franchise. It has been recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine's Top New Franchises for two consecutive years.
Here's what you would need to invest if you were to start this franchise. These costs are provided by the franchisor in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
Initial Training Program
The Initial Training Program is extensive, covering all crucial aspects of franchise operations. Franchisees are not required to pay any fees for this training if it is completed before the Studio opens and if all participants attend simultaneously.
If participants wish to complete the Initial Training Program at a different time, the franchisor may apply its current training fee.
Ongoing/Refresher and Additional Training
The franchisor may mandate up to 5 days of additional or refresher training each year for franchisees and certain management personnel. This ongoing training ensures that franchisees stay updated with the latest operational practices and standards.
Remedial Training
Should the franchisor determine that the franchisee is not adhering to the operational standards or agreement terms, up to 5 additional days of remedial training may be required for the franchisee, the Designated Manager, and/or certain Authorized Instructors.
AKT Franchises offer territory protection. Upon the identification and acceptance of an Authorized Location by the franchisor, a Designated Territory is established around the Authorized Location. Within this Designated Territory, the franchisee is granted specific protected rights.
