Woops! Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Specialty macaron and bakery franchise offering a variety of sweet treats, including macarons, cookies, and pastries, providing a delightful and indulgent dessert experience.

Woops! Macarons & Gifts is a gourmet dessert franchise specializing in authentic French macarons and artisanal pastries. It was founded in 2012 by four friends as a pop-up shop in New York City's Bryant Park.

The concept gained immediate traction, selling over 100,000 macarons in just nine weeks. Woops! is now headquartered in the Bronx, New York, and began franchising in 2015.

The brand offers two franchise models: boutique kiosks and full-service bakeshops. Kiosks are typically located in high-traffic areas like malls and transit hubs, while bakeshops provide a broader menu including over 30 global pastries, specialty sandwiches, and beverages.

Woops! sets itself apart through its focus on quality ingredients, stunning product presentation, and a strong emphasis on corporate gifting.

Training

Woops! provides a structured training program to prepare franchisees for business operations across its various formats. Below are the key training programs:

  1. Pre-Opening Training
Woops! requires franchisees to participate in pre-opening training, which includes both classroom and hands-on instruction. The training covers operations, product preparation, sales techniques, and brand standards. The cost for this program ranges from $500 to $25,000 depending on the business format and includes travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
  2. Business Growth & Operations Training
This segment focuses on ongoing business management and scalability. It is tailored to equip franchisees with tools for sustainable growth and includes training in financial management and customer service. This training is priced separately and coordinated with designated suppliers.
  3. Real Estate Services Training
For those opening a physical location, Woops! offers training related to real estate services, including lease negotiation and location setup. This ensures that franchisees select suitable locations and understand key aspects of lease compliance and property development.

Territory Protection

Woops! does not grant exclusive territory protection to its franchisees. Each franchisee receives a defined area approved by the franchisor, but the Franchise Agreement does not guarantee exclusivity from other franchisees or company operations.

This means Woops! may establish other outlets or allow third parties to serve customers within or near an existing franchisee’s area. While the franchisee is responsible for site selection and must get franchisor approval, this process focuses on location quality rather than territorial rights.

The company considers demographic factors, neighborhood conditions, and proximity to other outlets but retains the right to place additional locations. As a result, Woops! maintains flexibility to expand its brand presence without ensuring franchisees territorial exclusivity.
