Training

Surf City Squeeze provides a structured suite of training programs to equip franchisees and their teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate their businesses effectively:

  1. Initial Training Program: This program consists of approximately 40 hours of “In-Store Training” and 40 hours of “New Owner Training.” It is mandatory for up to two individuals, one of whom must be an owner. Training is conducted online or in-person at a designated facility, typically in Scottsdale, Arizona. Franchisees cover their own travel and lodging expenses.
  2. Additional Training and Conferences: The franchisor may require franchisees and managers to attend additional training sessions or conferences if the business is not operated according to system standards. These events may introduce new products, sales techniques, and other essential topics. Attendance is mandatory, and franchisees are responsible for associated costs.
  3. On-Site Opening Assistance: A representative from the franchisor will visit the franchisee’s location during opening week for up to four days at no cost to the franchisee. This support focuses on helping the franchisee with operations and marketing during the grand opening phase.

Territory Protection

Surf City Squeeze does not offer its franchisees any form of exclusive or protected territory. The franchise agreement explicitly states that the franchisor reserves the right to open additional Surf City Squeeze restaurants or similar food concepts in any location, including those in close proximity to an existing franchise.

This means franchisees may face direct competition from other franchised or corporate-owned units established by the franchisor or its affiliates.

Furthermore, the agreement allows the franchisor to grant licenses for other business models using the Surf City Squeeze system or trademarks without consulting or compensating existing franchisees.
