Dirt Juicery provides several structured training and assistance programs to its franchisees. Here's a breakdown of the training provided by the franchisor:
Initial Training Program Dirt Juicery requires the franchisee (and optionally up to two employees) to attend and successfully complete an initial training program prior to opening the franchised business. This program covers operations and administration, and is conducted at a designated location. There is no tuition fee, but the franchisee must cover all travel, lodging, and related expenses. The program must be completed to the franchisor's satisfaction; failure to do so can result in termination of the agreement. Instructors include Kendra Kadrlik and Melissa Huguet, each with six years of experience. The Operations Manual serves as the main training material.
Opening Assistance The franchisor provides support in site selection, setting up the location, and addressing operational questions to help establish the business.
Ongoing Training Dirt Juicery may require the franchisee to attend up to two ongoing training sessions per year, which may include seminars, webinars, or conventions. The cost is $250 per person per day, plus travel and accommodation if held at the franchisee’s location.
Manager/Substitute Training If a designated manager fails to complete training, the franchisee may appoint a substitute who must then complete the training at the franchisee’s expense. Additional training is billed at $250 per day per person.
Territory Protection
Dirt Juicery provides franchisees with territory protection through an exclusive territory. This means that within a defined geographic area—usually a 5-mile radius around the outlet—the franchisor agrees not to open or authorize another franchise or company-owned outlet offering similar products or services under the same or similar trademarks.
The continuation of territorial rights is not contingent on meeting sales goals or market penetration, and the franchisor cannot alter the territory even if the area's population increases.
However, Dirt Juicery does retain certain rights within your territory. The franchisor or its affiliates may still market and sell through alternate channels like the Internet, catalog, or telemarketing, even within your exclusive territory. While they promise to direct local inquiries to your outlet, franchisees are not entitled to compensation for any sales made by these other channels within their territory.
