Training

Modern Market Eatery ensures that franchisees and their staff are thoroughly prepared to run their restaurant through an extensive training program that incorporates a variety of instructional methods.

Initial Training Program

The initial training program blends classroom instruction with hands-on experience, held at a location specified by the franchisor. It includes 63 hours of classroom training and 297 hours of practical, on-the-job training at an approved training restaurant.

This program is scheduled as needed for new franchisees and must be completed at least 30 days before the restaurant opens. All training is conducted in English and utilizes various instructional materials, such as handouts, manuals, guides, quizzes, checklists, self-guided online training, and other web-based learning resources.

Manager-Led Personnel Training Programs

Beyond the initial training, the franchisor may mandate that franchisee-trained managers conduct training sessions for their staff before they start their roles at the restaurant. The franchisor assesses the trainees and certifies their completion of the training based on their performance and adherence to standards.

Operational Advice and Consultation

The franchisor provides ongoing advice and consultation on restaurant operations, which may involve distributing printed, filmed, or digital materials, holding meetings or seminars, and maintaining communication through phone or email. Regular inspections are conducted to assist with operations and ensure compliance with the franchise system.

Territory Protection

Modern Market Eatery does not provide exclusive territories to its franchisees under the Franchise Agreement or the Development Agreement. This means that franchisees may encounter competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, or other distribution channels or competing brands managed by the franchisor.

There is no obligation on the franchisor's part to compensate franchisees for such competition.

Each Franchise Agreement grants the franchisee certain territorial rights within a geographic radius specified in an exhibit attached to the Franchise Agreement. Typically, this protected territory spans a radius of two miles from the franchised restaurant. However, this radius can be adjusted to a smaller or larger area based on mutual agreement before signing the Franchise Agreement
