MI-BOX Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

MI-BOX offers portable moving and storage solutions with mobile containers. Customers can pack at their convenience, and MI-BOX handles delivery and secure storage for residential and commercial needs.

MI-BOX Moving & Mobile Storage was founded in 2019 in the Chicago area and is headquartered in Joliet, Illinois. The company started franchising in 2022, opening opportunities for entrepreneurs to join the fast-growing mobile storage industry.

MI-BOX specializes in portable storage containers and moving services, with operations across the United States and Canada.

MI-BOX offers weather-resistant, durable storage containers in three sizes—8, 16, and 20 feet. Each unit is built with galvanized steel frames and composite wall panels for added strength and protection. The franchise uses a patented Level Lift System that keeps containers level during loading and unloading, helping prevent damage to items.

What sets MI-BOX apart is its focus on innovation and customer convenience. The Level Lift System ensures safe transportation, while the quality construction of the containers offers reliable storage. Flexible delivery and pickup options further enhance the customer experience for both residential and business clients.

Training

MI-BOX offers a comprehensive training program to equip franchisees for successful operation. The training includes multiple components to support both new and ongoing business needs:

  1. Initial Training Program
MI-BOX provides an Initial Training Program consisting of one full day at its corporate training center and up to three additional days of remote training. This training is mandatory for the franchisee, their designated manager, and up to two others, with no tuition charged if attended simultaneously before launch. Franchisees are responsible for travel and associated costs.
  2. Additional and Refresher Training
The franchisor may develop and require participation in additional or refresher courses delivered via webinars or other remote tools. While no tuition is charged for mandatory training, franchisees must cover attendance-related expenses. MI-BOX may also provide on-site training upon request, subject to trainer availability and fees.
  3. Replacement and Successor Training
Any replacement personnel designated as managers or service providers must complete the relevant training portions. These sessions incur standard training fees and must align with the franchisor’s schedule. This ensures continuity and adherence to MI-BOX standards across all staffing changes.

Territory Protection

MI-BOX provides franchisees with a defined “Designated Territory” in which they can operate, promote, and provide services. While this territory is protected from the establishment of another MI-BOX location using the same brand and system, it is not exclusive.

Franchisees may still face indirect competition from other MI-BOX businesses, company-owned outlets, or operations under different marks controlled by the franchisor. The franchisor retains broad rights to operate or license similar businesses under different trademarks anywhere, including within the Designated Territory.

MI-BOX also reserves the right to sell services through alternate channels like retail, wholesale, or the internet. Franchisees are strictly restricted from operating outside their assigned territory without written consent and could face penalties or termination if they do.
