Training

MasterTech provides a structured training program to ensure franchisees are fully prepared to operate their environmental services business. Here are the key training components:

  1. Pre-Opening Training Program: MasterTech requires that franchisees and one designated manager attend a pre-opening training program at no tuition cost. The training spans 33 to 41 hours over three to four days and takes place in Morris County, New Jersey. Travel, lodging, and meal expenses are the responsibility of the attendees.
  2. Operational Training Content: The training covers technical and operational aspects of the MasterTech business, including mold inspection, remediation, biohazard cleanup, and business procedures. Instruction is provided by experienced trainers and includes both classroom and practical components.
  3. Ongoing Staff Training: Any future managers or personnel assigned to key roles may be required to attend training programs as deemed necessary by MasterTech. The franchisor may also require attendance at additional seminars and refresher courses during the franchise term.

Territory Protection

MasterTech grants each franchisee a designated operating territory in which they are authorized to operate their franchise. This territory is selected by the franchisee and must be approved by the franchisor at the time of signing the Franchise Agreement.

The Administrative Office of the franchisee must be located within this approved territory. While franchisees receive the right to operate exclusively within their designated territory, the documents do not explicitly promise that no other franchises or company operations will be allowed in the same area.

However, the approval process and the requirement to maintain operations within the assigned territory serve as a form of territory protection. This structure ensures that each franchise has a defined geographic market to develop and serve.
