MaidThis Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

MaidThis is a cleaning services franchise offering residential, vacation rental, and Airbnb cleaning solutions, serving homeowners and property managers, and known for its remote, low-overhead model, tech systems, and full franchisee support.

MaidThis is a modern, lean cleaning franchise that offers both residential and vacation rental (Airbnb and short-term rental) cleaning services. The brand is built around a fully remote, tech-driven business model, allowing owners to manage operations from home without traditional real estate or large overheads.

Founded in 2013, MaidThis began franchising in 2020. The company is headquartered in Carson City, California.

What sets MaidThis apart is its technology-first approach. The system syncs with Airbnb calendars, automates scheduling, and streamlines client billing. Because it operates with low startup and ongoing costs, franchise owners can run efficient operations without large capital outlays.

MaidThis stands out as the first U.S.-based short-term rental cleaning franchise. It specializes in a niche that many traditional cleaning companies overlook, offering a scalable and remote-friendly opportunity for entrepreneurs.

Training

MaidThis provides a comprehensive training program to prepare franchisees for successfully operating a cleaning referral business. The training consists of structured virtual instruction and hands-on exercises. Here are the main components of the training:

  1. Initial Training Program
MaidThis offers a tuition-free Initial Training Program for up to two people, including the franchisee. The program spans five days and includes 24 hours of classroom training and 16 hours of on-the-job training. Topics covered include business philosophy, pre-opening procedures, recruitment, sales, marketing, cleaning protocols, and daily operations.
  2. Designated Manager Training
If a franchisee designates a manager to operate the business, that individual must also complete the Initial Training Program. If the manager fails to complete training satisfactorily, a replacement must be trained at the franchisee's expense, using MaidThis’s then-current tuition fee.
  3. Additional Personnel Training
Franchisees may request training for more staff beyond the initial two participants, subject to a tuition fee per additional trainee. All training is conducted by experienced instructors with at least two years of industry expertise, and the franchisee is responsible for all associated travel and lodging expenses.

Territory Protection

MaidThis grants franchisees an exclusive territory based on factors like population and market conditions.

Within this territory, no other MaidThis business will be opened under the same brand as long as the franchisee complies with the agreement. Franchisees may only market within their territory but can serve outside customers who request service—unless those customers are in another franchisee's territory.

However, MaidThis retains rights to operate or license businesses under different brands, or in non-traditional locations (e.g., hotels) within the territory. The franchisor may also distribute services through alternate channels like e-commerce, which are not covered by the territorial protection.
