Hop & Grape Taproom is a modern taproom and wine bar franchise built around craft beverages and community-driven experiences. The brand was founded in 2023 in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where it launched its first location.

Hop & Grape Taproom was created to offer a relaxed social setting that brings together craft beer fans and wine drinkers under one roof.

The concept focuses on a carefully curated selection of domestic and international craft beers, along with regional and Midwest wines. Locations are designed to encourage longer visits through comfortable layouts, food pairings, and a rotating beverage lineup.

Regular events such as trivia nights, live music, and themed tastings help drive repeat traffic and community engagement. Hop & Grape Taproom is headquartered in Wisconsin and began offering franchise opportunities after validating its business model at the company’s original location.

Training

Hop & Grape Taproom offers a detailed training system designed to prepare franchisees and their management teams:

  1. Initial Training Program: Franchisees and their Management Staff must attend a 10-day training program held at or near Marshfield, Wisconsin, or another designated location. The program covers operations, food and liquor service, customer service, advertising, equipment use, and more. Training must begin 60 days before opening, and successful completion is required 30 days prior to launch.
  2. Training for New Staff After Opening: Any new management staff hired post-opening must attend and complete a designated training program within 21 days of hire. If they fail to complete it within 60 days, they cannot work in the Taproom. This training typically occurs at the same designated locations and involves a per diem training fee and travel cost reimbursement.
  3. Supplemental and Ongoing Training: Hop & Grape may require additional training at any point if performance standards aren’t met or if changes in the system occur. Franchisees can also request extra training for their staff. All related costs, including trainer fees, travel, and employee expenses, are the franchisee’s responsibility.
  4. Opening Assistance: A support team, including a trainer and senior representative, is provided to assist with the Taproom opening. This ensures smooth implementation of operational standards and support for initial customer service and procedures.

Territory Protection

Hop & Grape Taproom provides limited territorial protection through a “Designated Area” around the franchised location, defined by radius, population, or landmarks. Within this area, the franchisor agrees not to develop another Hop & Grape Taproom under the same brand, as long as the franchisee remains in compliance. However, this does not grant full exclusivity, and no other territorial protections are implied or extended.

The franchisor and its affiliates may still market and sell related products or operate under different brand names—even within the Designated Area. They also reserve the right to open Hop & Grape Taprooms in “captive market” venues like airports, stadiums, colleges, or hospitals inside the territory.
