Hawaii Fluid Art

Hawaii Fluid Art Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Hawaii Fluid Art offers mesmerizing art workshops, allowing participants to create stunning fluid art pieces inspired by the beauty of Hawaii's landscapes and culture.

Founded in 2020 in Texas by Maya Ratcliff, Hawaii Fluid Art offers immersive fluid-art and resin-art experiences. The brand is headquartered in Cedar Hill, Texas. It began franchising in July 2021, launching a low-cost, creative business model.

Hawaii Fluid Art sells guided classes in fluid art, resin tumblers, glass painting, mosaics, candle making, trucker-hat design, skateboard art, and more. Classes are designed for all ages and skill levels and are ideal for group events such as date nights, birthday parties, and corporate team-building.

The mobile-unit franchise model allows services to reach schools, resorts, festivals, and off-site venues. The franchise stands out with its signature fluid-art technique that creates unpredictable “cell” patterns in each piece, combining science with creativity.

Training

Hawaii Fluid Art offers a comprehensive training program for franchisees and their staff to ensure consistency and quality in business operations:

  1. Initial Training: Required for the franchisee, Operating Principal, and Key Manager, this program spans a minimum of 8 days and is conducted onsite at the franchisee’s studio. It includes system operations, policies, and business procedures, with follow-up training potentially conducted 4–6 weeks post-opening.
  2. Supplementary Training: Additional training programs may be required or offered periodically. These may include refresher courses or advanced training, provided online, in-person, or via various digital platforms, and are sometimes mandatory.
  3. Annual Training Requirements: Each year, franchisees and key staff may be required to attend up to five days of additional training, including conventions or meetings, with a maximum of three days in-person. Travel and living expenses for such events are the responsibility of the franchisee.
  4. Training for Employees: Franchisees and their managers are responsible for training all staff according to franchisor standards. If standards are not met, the franchisor may require the training to be conducted by its own representatives, with associated costs borne by the franchisee.

Territory Protection

Hawaii Fluid Art provides franchisees with a limited form of territorial protection. Once a studio site is accepted, the franchisor designates a “Territory,” typically a three-mile radius unless located in a dense Central Business District, where the area may range from two blocks to three miles.

Within this defined Territory, the franchisor agrees not to operate or license another studio under the Hawaii Fluid Art name, provided the franchisee is not in default under the agreement.

However, this protection is not absolute. Hawaii Fluid Art explicitly states that franchisees do not receive an exclusive territory and may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, or alternate distribution channels under different brand names.
