Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips is a fast-casual restaurant franchise centered on the iconic British fish and chips dish, elevated by world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. The concept debuted in 2016 with its first location on the Las Vegas Strip, quickly gaining popularity for its approachable format, bold branding, and high-quality execution.

It operates as part of the broader Gordon Ramsay Restaurants portfolio, which includes multiple globally recognized dining concepts. The franchise is operated in the United States under Gordon Ramsay North America, which is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Gordon Ramsay Restaurants oversees U.S. operations, brand standards, and development through this North American platform.

After establishing the concept through company-owned locations, the brand introduced a formal U.S. franchising program, allowing experienced operators to bring the Fish & Chips concept to major metropolitan and tourist markets.

A Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips franchise focuses on a streamlined menu featuring crispy battered cod, golden chips, and signature house sauces, along with items such as shrimp, chicken, and hand-spun milkshakes.

The menu is designed for speed, consistency, and high-volume service, making the concept well-suited for high-traffic locations. Recipes and ingredients reflect Gordon Ramsay’s culinary standards while remaining accessible to a broad customer base.

Training

Fish & Chips Gordon Ramsay franchise offers a robust training program designed to maintain brand standards and operational excellence. Here are the core components:

  1. Initial Approved Management Training
Franchisees and key management personnel—including the Designated Principal, Operations Leader, General Manager, and at least three Restaurant Managers—must complete this program at least 60 days prior to opening. Training may take place at corporate offices in Texas, another company-owned or franchised location, or the franchisee’s own restaurant. This includes live instruction, checklists, manuals, and on-the-job experience.
  2. Ongoing and Continuing Training
Franchisees must attend any mandatory ongoing training sessions as designated by the franchisor. These may cover new operational procedures, brand updates, or system changes. Optional training programs are also offered periodically.
  3. Replacement or Successor Training
Any newly appointed or replacement management-level personnel are required to complete the full initial training program to the franchisor’s satisfaction. Fees may apply for these sessions, and the franchisee is responsible for all associated travel and living expenses.
  4. On-Site Remedial Training
Upon request or at the franchisor’s discretion, on-site remedial training may be provided. Franchisees are responsible for paying the trainer’s current rate along with all related costs like travel and lodging.

Territory Protection

Fish & Chips Gordon Ramsay franchise grants a Designated Area to each franchisee after approving the restaurant’s location. This area is defined based on factors like market population, density, traffic, and co-tenants.

While the franchisor agrees not to open another Fish & Chips restaurant in this Designated Area, franchisees do not receive exclusive territory rights and may face competition from other franchised or corporate locations, or alternative sales channels.

The franchisor retains extensive rights to operate or authorize others to operate in and around the Development Territory, including selling branded products through grocery stores, online, or at special venues like airports and malls.
