Training

The Capt. Loui franchise provides a comprehensive and structured training program to ensure the successful launch and ongoing operation of each franchised restaurant. The training is mandatory and applies to the franchisee, Operating Principal, and Restaurant Manager.

  1. Initial Training Program: A 30-day mandatory training program is required for all franchisees (if individuals), their Operating Principals, and Restaurant Managers. It includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training in areas such as kitchen prep, cooking, customer service, floor management, and POS systems. Training is primarily held in Fort Lee, NJ.
  2. Prerequisites: All attendees must be certified in safe food handling from a state-approved program and demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and conversing in English before attending the training.
  3. Operations Manual: Trainees are provided access to Capt. Loui’s confidential and proprietary Operations Manual, which includes detailed specifications and procedures. The manual is regularly updated and available in various formats.

Territory Protection

Capt. Loui does not offer exclusive territorial protection to its franchisees under the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees may face direct competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, or other distribution channels controlled by Capt. Loui.

There is no right to develop additional locations or any form of territory exclusivity granted through the franchise.

Franchisees may be assigned a Development Territory under a separate Development Agreement, but even that territory is not protected if the franchisee defaults on their obligations. The franchisor retains the right to implement multi-area marketing and does not guarantee compensation for impacts within a franchisee’s territory.
