Bango Bowls is a fast-casual concept that launched in 2017 on Long Island, New York, with the goal of making wholesome, flavorful meals convenient for everyday life. The first restaurant opened in Massapequa Park, and the brand now operates from its headquarters in Bay Shore, New York.

Owned and developed by Upstream Hospitality Group, the concept centers on fresh ingredients and better-for-you dining choices that match today’s health-focused eating habits.

Its menu features a wide range of options, including salads, poke bowls, warm grain bowls, açaí creations, flaninis, and avocado toast. Each item is crafted to offer both nutrition and flavor, giving customers balanced, satisfying meals. This mix of variety and clean eating is what helps Bango Bowls stand out in the fast-casual market.

The brand moved into franchising in 2023, opening the door for single-unit and multi-unit operators. Bango Bowls sets itself apart through its commitment to simplicity, taste, and wellness, offering a menu that appeals to busy families and individuals looking for quick, nourishing food choices.

Training

Bango Bowls provides a comprehensive suite of training programs to ensure its franchisees and their staff are well-equipped to operate the business in accordance with brand standards. Below is a breakdown of the training programs offered by the franchisor:

  1. Initial Training Program
The Initial Training Program is mandatory for the franchisee (or a principal) and up to two other designated personnel. It is typically held at Bango Bowls’ corporate headquarters or another designated facility, with remote options available depending on staff availability. This training covers system methods, operational standards, and company philosophy. The franchisee bears the cost of travel and lodging, while tuition for up to three attendees is included. Additional participants incur an extra training fee.
  2. On-Site Assistance Training
Before the franchise opens, Bango Bowls may offer 1 to 3 days of on-site training at the franchise location. If the franchisee or their staff do not demonstrate adequate understanding during this period, Bango Bowls may extend the training, with all additional costs borne by the franchisee.
  3. Training for Replacement Personnel
If personnel need to be replaced or fail to complete the Initial Training Program, Bango Bowls will offer training again for a fee and require reimbursement of any related expenses.

Territory Protection

Bango Bowls provides its franchisees with a Designated Territory, which is a geographic area defined and agreed upon at the time the franchise is established. Within this area, the franchisor agrees not to open or license another restaurant using the Bango Bowls system or branding, as long as the franchisee remains in compliance with the agreement.

This area may be described using various geographic markers like zip codes, population radius, or street boundaries and is formally documented in the Data Sheet attached to the Franchise Agreement.

However, Bango Bowls does not grant exclusive territorial rights beyond this Designated Territory. The franchisor retains the right to compete through alternative channels, including internet sales, non-traditional sites, and other branded or non-branded outlets.
