YESCO Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Sign and lighting service franchise providing sign installation, repair, and maintenance services, as well as custom sign design and manufacturing.

Founded in 1920 by Thomas Young in Ogden, Utah, YESCO (Young Electric Sign Company) has been a leader in the sign and lighting industry for over 100 years. The company is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and began franchising its sign and lighting service business in 2011.

YESCO specializes in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of custom signs, lighting systems, and electronic displays. Its clients range from small businesses to major corporations, all looking to boost visibility and brand impact.

Some of YESCO’s most iconic projects include the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign and the Fremont Street Experience canopy.

What differentiates YESCO from competitors is its proactive service model. Franchisees use YESCO’s proprietary software, Servizio℠, to detect and manage service needs efficiently. This eliminates the need for a traditional retail storefront or heavy advertising, allowing franchisees to focus on high-quality service delivery.

Training

YESCO provides a structured training program designed to equip franchisees with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate their business. The training program includes the following components:

  1. Pre-Training Online Self-Study
Before attending the in-person training, franchisees must complete an online self-study program. This ensures foundational knowledge of YESCO's systems and expectations.
  2. Initial Training Program
The Primary Owner and Principal Operator, along with one additional person, must attend and satisfactorily complete the initial training. This program spans approximately 5 to 10 days and is typically conducted in Salt Lake City, Utah, or Las Vegas, Nevada. YESCO covers the tuition for up to three participants, but travel, lodging, and meals are the franchisee’s responsibility.
  3. YESCO Software Training
Franchisees are required to complete training on the YESCO Software either before or after the initial training. This is essential for the efficient management of business operations.

Territory Protection

YESCO grants each franchisee a defined geographic territory in which they are authorized to operate. This territory is outlined in the Franchise Agreement and is meant to support the franchisee’s ability to develop and serve a specific market.

However, the Franchise Disclosure Document does not guarantee exclusive rights, meaning other franchisees or company-owned operations may exist nearby.

Although YESCO provides a designated area, the franchisor reserves the right to redefine or reallocate territories as needed. This flexibility allows YESCO to adapt to market demands but may impact a franchisee’s operational boundaries.
