Velofix Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Velofix is a mobile bicycle repair and service franchise offering on-site maintenance, parts and rental fleets, serving cyclists and active customers, and known for low overhead, mobile flexibility and a franchise-ready support system.

Velofix was launched in 2012 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a simple idea: bring bike repair and maintenance directly to the rider. The company operates as a mobile bike-service franchise, sending technicians to customers’ homes, offices, and other convenient spots.

It is run by Velofix Holdings Ltd., based in Vancouver, with an additional corporate presence in Delaware for U.S. operations. The franchise opportunity was introduced around 2014, allowing the brand to scale its “mobile bike shop” concept across multiple markets.

Franchise owners run specially outfitted vans—most often customized Mercedes Sprinter vehicles—that function as traveling repair shops and retail units. These vans carry the equipment, parts, and tools needed to handle a wide range of services.

With the mobile workshop fully stocked, franchisees can perform tune-ups, mechanical repairs, bike builds, e-bike maintenance, and even packing services for cyclists traveling with their bikes.

Training

Velofix provides a comprehensive training program to ensure franchisees and their teams are prepared to operate their mobile bike shop effectively. The training emphasizes both initial onboarding and ongoing education to maintain service quality and brand consistency. Here are the key programs offered by the franchisor:

  1. Initial Training Program
Velofix offers an Initial Training Program of up to five days for the franchisee and the Lead Mechanic (or another key employee). This may be conducted on-site, virtually, or a mix of both, and covers all aspects of running the franchised business. The training is provided at no extra cost, though the franchisee must cover travel, lodging, meals, and wages.
  2. Virtual Training Option
As of the current policy, the Initial Training Program is delivered remotely through video conferencing. Velofix retains the right to shift this to in-person training at a designated location in the future.
  3. Mandatory and Optional Ongoing Training
Velofix may require franchisees and staff to attend additional training sessions periodically. These can include webinars, interactive tutorials, or in-person events focused on updated policies, procedures, or marketing strategies. Mandatory programs are free, while optional ones may incur a fee.

Territory Protection

Velofix provides its franchisees with a defined territory composed of one or more ZIP codes, as specified in the Franchise Agreement. While this territory is not exclusive, the franchisor agrees that as long as the franchisee complies with the agreement, no other Velofix franchise will be established within the assigned area.

This arrangement offers a level of territorial protection, ensuring the franchisee has space to operate without direct internal competition from another Velofix location.

However, Velofix retains broad rights both inside and outside the assigned territory. The franchisor and its affiliates may continue to develop other business systems, operate under different names, serve Key Accounts, or market system-wide promotions in any area, including the franchisee's territory.
