NextCar is a U.S.-based car rental franchise brand founded in 2003 in the Mid-Atlantic region. Headquartered in Laurel, Maryland, the company is part of NP Franchise Group (formerly Priceless Rent-A-Car) and began offering franchise opportunities in 2015.
At its core, NextCar provides vehicle rental, leasing, car sharing and used car sales services to short-term and long-term customers.
It differentiates itself through a locally-owned feel combined with corporate-scale support, offering franchisees training, proprietary reservation and fleet‐management software, and access to preferred vehicle-acquisition and insurance programs.
With its focus on quality rental vehicles at lower rates and strong operational systems, NextCar positions itself as a compelling choice for entrefor entrepreneurs seeking a car-rental business aligned with both travel and mobility trends.
Here's what you would need to invest if you were to start this franchise. These costs are provided by the franchisor in the Franchise Disclosure Document.

NextCar provides a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping franchisees with the essential knowledge to operate their vehicle rental business effectively. The training is included in the Initial Franchise Fee and is conducted at the Franchisee Service Center in Laurel, Maryland, or optionally at a regional site selected by the franchisee.
NextCar offers territory protection to franchisees who operate under a Primary Service Area or Airport Location agreement. In these cases, as long as the franchisee complies with their agreement, the franchisor will not authorize another NextCar location within that defined area.
The territory is specified in the franchise agreement and may be reduced or modified if fleet minimums are not met. However, this protection does not apply to Single Point Franchises, which are site-specific and offer no territorial exclusivity.
Additionally, NextCar and its affiliates reserve broad rights to operate under other trade names or service marks within and outside any franchisee’s area. This means franchisees may still face competition from affiliated brands or different distribution channels operated by the franchisor.
