Twinkle Star Dance Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Twinkle Star Dance is a dance education franchise offering engaging classes for children, focusing on foundational dance skills and creativity.

Founded in 2000 by professional dancer and educator Tiffany Henderson, Twinkle Star Dance Academy (TSDA) has emerged as a leading force in early childhood dance education. Headquartered in Livermore, California, TSDA began franchising in 2021, offering a comprehensive, turn-key business model for aspiring dance studio owners.

The academy specializes in providing structured yet imaginative dance instruction for children aged 2 and up, encompassing styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and creative movement.

At the heart of TSDA's success is its proprietary, video-based curriculum, designed to engage young dancers and ensure consistent, high-quality instruction across all locations.

What sets Twinkle Star Dance Academy apart from its competitors is its unwavering focus on the developmental needs of preschool-aged children. The academy's curriculum is meticulously crafted to balance skill-building with fun, fostering an environment where young dancers can thrive.

Training

Twinkle Star Dance provides a thorough training program designed to prepare franchisees for the successful launch and operation of their studio. The franchisor’s training covers all essential business and instructional areas necessary for managing a dance studio under the Twinkle Star Dance brand. Below are the key training components:

  1. Initial Training Program: This training is conducted virtually to eliminate travel, hotel, and meal expenses. It includes instruction from the founder Tiffany Henderson and key staff members on topics such as dance instruction, studio operations, and administration. Franchisees and up to three additional individuals must complete the training within 180 days before opening and must meet performance standards set by the franchisor.
  2. On-the-Job Market Training: Within the first week of opening, a representative from Twinkle Star Dance spends 3 to 5 days at the franchisee’s studio for hands-on training. This practical component, based on a 40-hour work week, reinforces operational and instructional protocols in the studio’s real-world environment.
  3. Operational Support and Resources: Franchisees receive an Operations Manual with policies, procedures, curriculum, and choreography. Ongoing support includes advisory services for operational and administrative questions, updates on best practices, and opportunities to participate in conventions focused on system improvements and industry trends.

Territory Protection

Twinkle Star Dance offers its franchisees territory protection through an Exclusive Territory model. Each franchisee is granted a defined geographic area, typically a portion of a city, a group of zip codes, or an area bounded by specific highways, based on population density and local demographics.

Within this territory, the franchisor agrees not to establish another Twinkle Star Dance franchise, provided the franchisee complies with their contractual obligations. Franchisees are restricted from marketing, soliciting, or offering services outside their Exclusive Territory unless explicitly approved by the franchisor.

The territory typically includes at least a five-mile buffer from the nearest Twinkle Star Dance franchise. Although franchisees are granted operational exclusivity, the franchisor retains rights to sell services through nontraditional venues or alternative channels such as the internet, catalogs, or direct marketing, even within the protected territory.
