Frequently Asked Questions
What is the royalty fee?
The royalty fee for a The Glass Guru franchise is 5.00%. In addition, you would have to pay the advertising (or national brand fund) fee of 3% + up to 5%.
What is the total investment?
The initial investment required for a The Glass Guru franchise is $126,000 - $220,000. That is the total cost you would need to finance if you were to start this franchise. These costs are provided by the franchisor in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
What is the initial franchise fee?
The initial franchise fee for a The Glass Guru franchise is $30,000 to $50,000. This is typically paid upfront as part of the total initial investment, after signature of the Franchise Agreeement.
The Glass Guru provides a structured suite of training programs for franchisees and their teams to ensure effective operation of their Franchise Business. These are the primary training programs offered:
Initial Training Program: Required to be completed within 90 days of signing the agreement, this program is mandatory for the Owners and the Designated Manager, and includes up to three assistants upon approval. It covers technical procedures, quality standards, customer service, sales and marketing, CRM systems, record keeping, and other operational topics. It is held at headquarters or another designated location. Although tuition is not charged, attendees are responsible for their travel, lodging, and related expenses.
Technician Training & Certification: Any newly hired window restoration technicians must be properly trained. This can be done either at the franchisee's location or another approved site, including Franchisor’s headquarters. Training provided by the Franchisor at the request of the franchisee is chargeable at standard rates, and all associated costs are borne by the franchisee.
Refresher Training: The Franchisor may periodically require previously trained franchisees or managers to attend refresher training sessions. No more than two sessions per year are mandated, and the total duration will not exceed seven days annually. These may be subject to training fees and all travel and accommodation costs are the franchisee's responsibility.
Territory Protection
The Glass Guru offers territory protection to its franchisees through what it designates as the "Area of Primary Responsibility" (APR). This APR is a geographically defined area, often based on U.S. zip codes, which serves as the exclusive territory for the franchisee's operations.
As long as the franchisee complies with the terms of the agreement, this APR will not be modified or reduced. Within this APR, the franchisor agrees not to establish another franchise location or permit others to operate using The Glass Guru’s brand.
However, franchisees are restricted from providing services or selling products within another franchisee’s APR, with limited exceptions such as serving immediate family. Despite this territorial protection, the franchisor reserves rights to operate or license businesses under other trademarks or distribute similar products through alternate channels, even within a franchisee's APR.
