The Glass Guru was founded in 2004 by Dan and Joy Frey in Roseville, California. It began as a company specializing in restoring foggy dual-pane windows, offering a unique and eco-friendly alternative to glass replacement.
The brand started franchising in 2007 and is now headquartered in Plano, Texas, with over 85 franchise locations across North America. The franchise provides a wide array of services, including glass repair and replacement, window and door restoration, mirrors, shower enclosures, and in-glass pet doors.
Its comprehensive offerings appeal to both residential and commercial customers seeking efficient and reliable solutions.
The brand’s focus on innovation and customer convenience has helped it build a strong presence in the home services industry. What makes The Glass Guru stand out is its pioneering approach to glass restoration—a service that few national competitors offer.
Here's what you would need to invest if you were to start this franchise. These costs are provided by the franchisor in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
The Glass Guru provides a structured suite of training programs for franchisees and their teams to ensure effective operation of their Franchise Business. These are the primary training programs offered:
The Glass Guru offers territory protection to its franchisees through what it designates as the "Area of Primary Responsibility" (APR). This APR is a geographically defined area, often based on U.S. zip codes, which serves as the exclusive territory for the franchisee's operations.
As long as the franchisee complies with the terms of the agreement, this APR will not be modified or reduced. Within this APR, the franchisor agrees not to establish another franchise location or permit others to operate using The Glass Guru’s brand.
However, franchisees are restricted from providing services or selling products within another franchisee’s APR, with limited exceptions such as serving immediate family. Despite this territorial protection, the franchisor reserves rights to operate or license businesses under other trademarks or distribute similar products through alternate channels, even within a franchisee's APR.
