Established in 1992 in San Antonio, Texas, by entrepreneur Buck Jacobs, the organization has expanded steadily, maintaining its headquarters in the city where it was founded.

Since launching its franchise model in 1993, The C12 Group has enabled individuals to create local advisory boards that uphold the organization's faith-centered mission. These franchisees, known as C12 Chairs, lead monthly gatherings where CEOs and executives engage in collaborative discussions centered on business strategy, leadership challenges, and spiritual development.

Training

The C12 Group offers a robust and multi-stage training program designed to fully prepare franchisees (referred to as Area Chairs) for operating their franchise business. This training encompasses both initial onboarding and ongoing development to support performance and brand consistency.

1. New Chair Training: This is a five-week mandatory program combining four weeks of guided self-study and weekly live webinar sessions with a C12 Chair Trainer, followed by a one-week, in-person Training Week at C12’s headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. The training covers the franchise’s vision, values, methodology, and operational protocols.
2. Sales Training Series: Running concurrently with the initial training, this 13-week program consists of weekly one-hour telephone coaching sessions focused on sales development. It is a required component to ensure that franchisees can effectively grow their member base and manage business outreach.
3. Semi-Annual Chair Training: Twice a year, franchisees must attend in-person training workshops. These sessions provide updates, collaborative learning, and strategic alignment across the C12 network.
4. Ongoing Monthly Support: Franchisees are required to participate in monthly webinars and conference calls. These sessions are critical for continued education, sharing best practices, and reinforcing business goals.

Territory Protection

The C12 Group grants franchisees an exclusive territory, defined by geographic boundaries such as cities or zip codes. Within this area, no other C12 franchise can operate, and the franchisee has the sole right to offer C12 services and host forums.

However, this exclusivity depends on meeting performance standards. If a franchisee underperforms, the franchisor may reduce the territory or allow another franchisee to operate within it. Territory expansion is possible but requires approval, additional fees, and updated performance goals.
