Tandoori Pizza is a fast-casual restaurant franchise that combines bold Indian spices with classic Italian pizza traditions. Founded in 2015 in California by entrepreneur Tejinder Singh, the brand set out to deliver a unique fusion of flavors where East meets West. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, the company has grown steadily since its inception, building a loyal following for its innovative concept.
The Tandoori Pizza franchise model began in 2015, the same year the company was founded, allowing franchisees to join an emerging brand from the start. Franchise owners operate restaurants offering a distinctive menu that includes handcrafted dough, authentic Italian techniques, and toppings inspired by Indian cuisine such as chili paneer, curried vegetables, and chicken tikka.
What makes Tandoori Pizza stand out in the competitive pizza market is its creative blend of two beloved food traditions. The brand focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients and flavorful recipes that deliver a memorable dining experience. Its Indian-fusion twist appeals to a wide range of customers, from those seeking something new to those craving a taste of home.

Tandoori Pizza provides a comprehensive training structure designed to prepare franchisees and their staff for successful restaurant operation. The franchisor offers several distinct training programs as follows:
Pre-Opening Initial Training Program This is mandatory for the Principal Owner and Restaurant Manager and takes place both at the corporate training center in Dublin, California, and at the franchise location. It typically lasts six days (three days at headquarters and three days onsite) and must be completed at least 30 days before the restaurant opens. The curriculum includes food preparation, portion control, cooking procedures, marketing, equipment maintenance, and customer service techniques.
On-Site Opening Assistance For the first restaurant, Tandoori Pizza may send a 1–2 person team to assist for up to one week before and two weeks after the opening. This team provides support but does not manage operations. For subsequent locations, this service is optional and available at an additional cost.
Post-Opening Initial Training Programs These are offered upon request for new or replacement supervisory staff. The franchisee must cover all associated costs, including a training fee and any expenses related to travel, lodging, and wages.
Post-Opening Additional and Remedial Training Programs Tandoori Pizza may require ongoing or remedial training for the franchisee, the Principal Owner, or restaurant managers. These sessions are subject to a daily training fee and all associated expenses are the franchisee’s responsibility.
Territory Protection
Tandoori Pizza offers its franchisees a form of limited territorial protection through what it defines as a “Protected Area.” This Protected Area typically spans a three-mile radius around the franchised location and is determined prior to signing the Franchise Agreement.
As long as the franchisee remains in good standing, the franchisor agrees not to open, operate, or authorize another Tandoori Pizza restaurant within that designated zone.
However, this protection has clear limitations. Franchisees are not granted exclusive territories, and the franchisor reserves the right to operate or franchise locations outside the Protected Area without restriction. In cases where the franchise is located in a “Non-Traditional Venue” (e.g., airports, stadiums, or business complexes), the Protected Area is limited strictly to that venue.
