Training

Sidewalk Juice offers a detailed training program designed to prepare franchisees and their key staff for operating a juice bar successfully. The program is structured as follows:

  1. Mandatory Pre-Opening Training: All owners holding more than 20% interest and up to two managers must complete the training before the store opens. The course includes 26–32 hours of on-site training and video conferencing on ordering, inventory, menu basics, customer service, sanitation, and operations.
  2. Training Location and Format: Training takes place via video conference and on-site at the juice bar. Up to 50% of the training can occur after the soft opening. Instructional materials include manuals, recipes, schedules, reports, and checklists.
  3. Additional and Replacement Training: If new supervisors or managers are hired, Sidewalk Juice may require them to take the training. The franchisor charges $350 per person for additional training beyond the initial group. All related travel and expenses are the franchisee’s responsibility.

Territory Protection

Sidewalk Juice offers franchisees a protected territory, primarily for conventional juice bars. Within this area, the franchisor agrees not to open another company-owned or franchised juice bar that is substantially similar to the franchisee’s operation.

However, this protection does not extend to non-traditional venues like regional malls, transit hubs, airports, or facilities owned by entities that merge with or acquire the franchisor.

Despite having a protected territory, Sidewalk Juice reserves wide rights to distribute its products through alternative channels such as online platforms, wholesale, mail order, or special events—even within a franchisee’s area. Franchisees are not entitled to compensation for sales made in their territory by the franchisor or others authorized by it.
