Sarpino's Pizzeria Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Sarpino's Pizzeria is a delivery-focused franchise offering gourmet pizzas, calzones, salads, and pastas, serving late-night and family audiences, and known for from-scratch dough, extended hours, and dependable doorstep convenience.

Sarpino’s Pizzeria is a fast-casual pizza delivery and take-out franchise offering handcrafted Italian-style pizzas, calzones, pasta dishes, and other Italian favorites. The brand was founded in 2001 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, by Gerry Koutougos and later established its U.S. headquarters in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

Franchising began in the early 2000s, around 2002 in the U.S. market. The brand focuses on fresh ingredients, online ordering, and free delivery, operating with a delivery and carry-out model that keeps overhead low and simplifies operations for franchise owners.

What sets Sarpino’s apart from competitors is its commitment to authentic Italian flavors, an efficient operational model built for delivery, and a menu that caters to evolving customer preferences, including vegan and specialty pizza options. Its emphasis on quality, consistency, and convenience has helped it build a loyal customer base.

Training

Sarpino’s Pizzeria provides a structured and multi-faceted training program to ensure that franchisees operate their restaurants effectively and in accordance with the brand’s standards. Here are the key training programs offered by the Franchisor:

  1. Initial Training Program
Before opening, the Franchisee and their Designated Manager must complete an initial training program to the Franchisor's satisfaction. This consists of:
    • Approximately 15 business days of hands-on operational training at the Franchisor’s Training Center.
    • 5 business days of classroom business training at the Franchisor’s headquarters or another designated location.
    • On-site launch support at the Franchisee’s restaurant during opening.
  2. Certified Manager Training
In addition to the Designated Manager, Certified Managers must undergo specific training. The Franchisee is responsible for paying the current fee for this program and covering associated travel and living expenses.
  3. Ongoing Performance Improvement Consulting
The Franchisor provides consulting services that include written or digital materials to help improve restaurant operations. This may cover new technologies, management techniques, food preparation, and packaging.

Territory Protection

Sarpino’s Pizzeria provides limited territorial protection to its franchisees through what it defines as a “Protected Area.” This area is typically outlined by boundaries surrounding the approved location and is determined based on factors such as population density, customer segments, and delivery service potential.

Within this Protected Area, Sarpino’s and its affiliates agree not to establish another Sarpino’s Pizzeria restaurant, except for “limited use facilities” like malls, airports, or stadiums.

However, the franchisee does not receive an exclusive territory. The Franchisor reserves the right to operate or license similar businesses under different brand names and trademarks within or outside the Protected Area.
