ROOF SCIENTIST Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

ROOF SCIENTIST is a home-services franchise offering roof inspection, maintenance, and restoration services, serving residential and light-commercial property owners, and known for technology-driven assessments, leak-prevention solutions, and educational consultations that help clients extend roof life and avoid premature full replacements.

ROOF SCIENTIST is a modern roofing franchise that provides roof repair, restoration, and replacement services for residential and commercial clients. The brand is known for its proprietary nano-ceramic coating technology, Cericade™, which restores and protects aging asphalt shingle roofs.

This science-driven approach offers customers a cost-effective alternative to full roof replacement while reducing material waste.

The company traces its origins back to 1995 and operates under the HomeFront Brands umbrella. ROOF SCIENTIST began franchising in 2021 as part of its nationwide expansion strategy.

The franchise is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, where it oversees brand development, training, and operational support for its growing network.

ROOF SCIENTIST offers services including roof inspections, repairs, replacements, and its signature Cericade™ roof-treatment system. Its differentiation comes from its restoration-first philosophy, using advanced coating technology to extend roof life rather than defaulting to replacement.

Training

ROOF SCIENTIST provides franchisees with a thorough, structured training program to ensure successful operation of their business. The programs are as follows:

  1. Initial Training Program
Franchisees and their designated managers must attend and complete a five-day Initial Training Program held at the franchisor’s Home Office in Huntersville, North Carolina, or another designated location. Training must be completed before the business opens and within 90 days of the franchise agreement. The program covers brand standards, operations, and compliance, and is provided free for up to two representatives.
  2. Employee and Designated Manager Training
All employees must be trained prior to assuming their duties, and Designated Managers must also complete the Initial Training Program. In case of staff turnover, replacements must be trained and approved by the franchisor within 30 days. The franchisor reserves the right to provide and oversee this training.
  3. Additional and Remedial Training
The franchisor may conduct additional or refresher courses as needed or required by performance audits. These can take place at the Home Office, a designated site, or virtually, and may last up to 10 days annually or 20 days if non-compliance issues exist. Franchisees are responsible for all related costs, including travel and tuition.

Territory Protection

ROOF SCIENTIST grants its franchisees a Designated Territory, which typically includes about 80,000 qualified households. Within this territory, the franchisor agrees not to establish or license another franchise under the Roof Scientist brand for the duration of the agreement, provided the franchisee remains in good standing.

The territory's boundaries are determined using demographic data and can be described using various geographic markers such as zip codes or landmarks.

However, the protection is not fully exclusive. The franchisor and its affiliates reserve the right to use alternate distribution channels—including online platforms and National Accounts—that may operate within the franchisee’s territory.
