Rad Air Complete Car Care Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Rad Air Complete Car Care offers comprehensive automotive services, providing maintenance, repair, and inspections to keep vehicles in top condition.

Rad Air Complete Car Care is a trusted automotive repair and tire service franchise built on family values and a reputation for honesty. It was founded in 1975 in Parma Heights, Ohio, by Andy Fiffick. Originally specializing in radiator and air conditioning services, the business gradually expanded into full-service automotive care, earning strong community trust throughout Northeast Ohio.

The company is headquartered in North Royalton, Ohio. Rad Air began offering franchise opportunities in 1999, leveraging decades of operational experience. Today, the brand operates multiple franchise locations, with a leadership team that includes former franchisees, reflecting a deep understanding of both operations and support.

Rad Air offers a wide range of services, including engine diagnostics, brake repairs, cooling system maintenance, hybrid vehicle care, tire services, and fleet management.

Notably, it was an early adopter of hybrid vehicle services in 2005 and began offering free loaner vehicles in 1998—demonstrating a commitment to convenience and innovation.

The franchise stands out with a “Golden Rules” approach: fix the car right the first time, charge a fair price, never oversell, and always prioritize the customer.

Training

Rad Air Complete Car Care provides a comprehensive training program designed to ensure franchisees are fully prepared to operate their service centers effectively. The training includes multiple phases and modes of instruction, focusing on both technical and operational aspects. The programs are as follows:

  1. Initial Training (Phase I & II): Required Trainees must attend and successfully complete this training before opening. Phase I consists of two consecutive weeks at the franchisor’s headquarters and a service center in Cleveland, Ohio, around 45 days before the grand opening. Phase II involves up to two weeks of onsite training at the franchise location during the week before and the week of opening.
  2. Training Content: The training curriculum includes modules on Rad Air's history and values, the Shop Management System, the WOW Oil Change Process, the Digital Inspection Process, working with other Rad Air locations, and warranty processes.
  3. Additional and Refresher Training: The franchisor may periodically require refresher or advanced training, which may be held at company offices or via various media formats. Attendance and successful completion may be mandatory to maintain service quality standards.

Territory Protection

Rad Air Complete Car Care grants franchisees an exclusive territory as part of their franchise agreement. This territory is clearly defined using geographic markers such as zip codes or city boundaries, and typically includes around 100,000 households.

The franchisor commits not to operate or license any other franchised business using the Rad Air system and trademarks within the assigned territory, as long as the franchisee remains in compliance with their agreement.

However, Rad Air retains certain reserved rights that can affect the exclusivity. They may sell products or services through alternative channels like e-commerce or other retail outlets, even within the franchisee’s territory.
