Purrfect Auto Service

Purrfect Auto Service Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Purrfect Auto Service is an automotive-service franchise offering full repair, maintenance, fast-lube and smog services, serving vehicle owners seeking trustworthy care, and known for ethical operations, returning parts to clients, and consistent franchisee support.

Purrfect Auto Service operates as a comprehensive automotive repair and maintenance franchise, delivering services that span routine oil changes, brake work, smog checks, air-conditioning repairs, and a wide range of general mechanical fixes.

The brand promotes a clean and professional service environment. Each location is encouraged to build trust by returning replaced parts to customers—except when disposal regulations prevent it—and by completing a complimentary safety check with every visit.

Launched in 1989 and based in Diamond Bar, California, Purrfect Auto Service started expanding through franchising in 2010. Its system is described as a network of independently owned and operated centers across California and Nevada.

The franchise positions itself around ethical operations, competitive pricing, and long-term customer confidence. In a sector where many businesses depend on one-time service visits, Purrfect Auto Service focuses on standardized processes, clear communication, and the promise of helping every vehicle “run like new.”

Training

Purrfect Auto Service provides a structured training program for its franchisees to ensure proper operation and adherence to its systems. The franchisor delivers several types of training to support franchisee readiness and performance:

  1. Initial Training Program
If a franchisee has not previously received training, they must attend a mandatory initial program. This includes approximately 2 days of classroom training at the franchisor’s headquarters in West Covina, California (or a designated location) and approximately 3 days of on-site training at the franchisee's location. Topics covered may include marketing, bookkeeping, safety, purchasing, inventory control, and customer and employee relations.
  2. Course Completion Requirement
The franchisee (or their designated officer) must complete the course to the franchisor’s satisfaction. If the franchisor is not satisfied with the performance or commitment demonstrated, they may rescind the franchise agreement and refund the initial fee.
  3. Supplementary and Refresher Training
The franchisor reserves the right to require additional training sessions periodically. These may include updates on new or existing procedures and are typically held at or near the franchisee’s location to avoid travel costs. These refresher sessions may occur as often as once a year.
  4. Detailed Instruction Schedule
The training agenda is broken down into specific topics, each paired with instructional hours for both classroom and on-site formats. Topics include roles of franchisee/franchisor, LOF (lube, oil, filter) business, brake services, and cleanliness standards. Instruction is based on the Franchisee Business Guide and conducted by franchisor staff or vendor representatives.

Territory Protection

Purrfect Auto Service does offer a limited form of territory protection to its franchisees. If a franchisee fully complies with the franchise agreement, the franchisor will not grant another Purrfect Auto Service franchise within one mile of the existing location, measured by surface street travel.

However, this exclusivity does not extend to preventing others, including other franchisees, from soliciting or advertising in the same territory.

The franchisee must operate solely from the designated location and has no automatic rights to additional franchises or rights of first refusal in nearby areas. Furthermore, the franchisor retains the right to open or license businesses under a different name or system even within the one-mile radius. This policy allows f
