Brake Masters is an automotive repair franchise providing services including brake repair, oil changes, and general vehicle maintenance. Known for its ASE-certified technicians, the franchise emphasizes customer service and quality workmanship.

Brake Masters is a trusted automotive repair franchise known for its commitment to integrity and quality service. Established in 1990 in Tucson, Arizona, by brothers Eric and Shalom Laytin, the company began as one of the first specialty brake repair shops in the industry.

Headquartered at 6179 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ, Brake Masters has grown to over 95 corporate and franchised locations across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

In 1991, Brake Masters Systems, Inc. began offering franchise opportunities, expanding its reach while maintaining its core values. The franchise provides comprehensive automotive services, including brake repair, oil changes, alignments, engine diagnostics, and more.

What sets Brake Masters apart is its philosophy of providing an "Honest Brake." This approach emphasizes transparency and customer trust, steering away from high-pressure sales tactics common in the industry.

Training

Brake Masters provides a structured training program to equip franchisees and their managers with essential operational knowledge. The franchise offers the following training programs:

  1. Initial Training: Brake Masters Systems, Inc. provides initial training for the franchisee and one manager at no cost. This training includes both classroom and on-site instruction and is intended to ensure a thorough understanding of the store’s systems and operations.
  2. Additional Manager Training: If more than one manager needs training, the franchisee is responsible for paying the training fees for each additional participant.
  3. Mandatory Future Training: Brake Masters may require franchisees to attend mandatory training sessions in the future. Tuition fees may apply for these sessions, and franchisees are responsible for these costs.
  4. On-Site Operational Assistance: After the store opens, the franchisor will provide one week of on-site support during the first two months of operation to assist with setup and troubleshooting.
  5. Ongoing Software Training and Support: Franchisees will receive initial training on the proprietary point-of-sale and management software, along with continued software support as needed.

Territory Protection

Brake Masters does not offer exclusive territory protection to its franchisees. Franchisees operate within an area approved by BMSI, but the franchisor may still open or authorize other stores nearby.

There are no contractual restrictions preventing BMSI or its affiliates from competing in the same market. As a result, franchisees may face competition from both company-owned and other franchised locations.
