Training

Pickleball Kingdom provides comprehensive training programs to its franchisees and their personnel to ensure consistency and quality in business operations. The training programs outlined include:

  1. Initial Management Training: Required for the Operating Partner, General Manager (if different), and at least one additional staff member. This training is held in Phoenix, Arizona or another designated location. While the franchisor provides the instructors and materials at no charge, the franchisee must cover all related expenses such as travel, lodging, meals, and wages.
  2. Training for Developers: The Developer’s Principal Owner and District Manager must successfully complete the franchisor’s management training. Any successors or replacements must also complete this training within a reasonable time after being designated. The franchisor may charge a fee for training replacement personnel.
  3. On-Site Training and Additional Seminars: The franchisor may conduct on-site training or seminars, with the franchisee bearing the cost. Additional training programs can be required by the franchisor from time to time.

Territory Protection

Pickleball Kingdom provides a form of territory protection for its franchisees, known as a “Protected Area.” This geographic area, defined in the franchise agreement, typically includes a minimum population of 100,000 people and is determined based on factors like traffic patterns, surrounding population, and proximity to commercial zones.

During the term of the agreement, as long as the franchisee remains compliant, the franchisor agrees not to establish another Pickleball Kingdom business within this Protected Area. However, the protection is conditional and non-exclusive.

Pickleball Kingdom retains the right to operate or license others to operate in Reserved Areas, which may fall within or near the Protected Area, such as airports, malls, and other public venues. Additionally, failure to meet minimum sales thresholds or other performance standards may lead to a reduction or revocation of these territorial rights.
