iFLY has redefined adventure by offering indoor skydiving that captures the sensation of freefall in a safe and controlled environment. Established in 1998, the company launched its first wind tunnel to make the experience of flight available to the public, regardless of skydiving experience. Today, iFLY is headquartered in Austin, Texas.

At the core of iFLY’s offering is its cutting-edge vertical wind tunnel technology, which replicates the feeling of skydiving without the need to jump from a plane. This setup creates an inclusive and exciting atmosphere, where people of virtually all ages and abilities can safely enjoy the sensation of flying.

What truly sets iFLY apart is the diversity of its programs.

Beyond recreational flying, the company hosts educational STEM sessions, youth-focused Flight School programs, corporate team-building experiences, and specially tailored All Abilities nights for those with cognitive or physical challenges—making the thrill of flight more inclusive than ever.

Training

iFLY offers a comprehensive training program to its franchisees, tailored to prepare personnel for the unique indoor skydiving operations. The franchisor mandates and facilitates several training courses throughout the franchise lifecycle. These programs are a mix of pre-opening, ongoing, and specialized training sessions.

  1. Pre-Opening Training
Franchisees must designate employees to complete required training programs, including management and Flight Instructor Training Programs (FITP), at least 60 days before opening.
  2. Initial Flight Instructor Training Program (FITP)
At least five individuals must attend and complete the FITP, which spans 20 working days over 28 calendar days. This program covers equipment operation, safety protocols, and flight techniques.
  3. Initial Management Training
This two-week course provides an overview of iFLY’s systems, culture, manuals, and operational practices. Franchisees may send two people, and the program is priced at $10,000, excluding travel and lodging costs.
  4. Additional Training Programs
iFLY may offer or require further training for franchisees, their owners, or new personnel. These programs may be conducted regionally or nationally and include specialized modules.

Territory Protection

iFLY grants franchisees a defined territory in which they are the only ones allowed to operate a wind tunnel using the iFLY trademark, as long as they comply with the franchise agreement. The franchisor will not install or license another iFLY-branded wind tunnel within that territory during the agreement term.

However, the franchisor retains rights to advertise and sell products and services—including online sales—within that territory.

Despite this protection, the franchise rights are non-exclusive. iFLY and its affiliates may still promote and operate similar businesses under different trademarks even near or adjacent to the franchisee's territory. Moreover, if a franchisee breaches the agreement, the franchisor may reduce or eliminate the granted territory entirely.
