Training

Pause requires franchisees and key personnel to complete a thorough training program prior to opening operations. Here are the key components of the training provided by the franchisor:

  1. Initial Training Program: The franchisee (or Operating Principal) and Manager must attend and successfully complete Pause’s initial training program, which may include in-person and virtual components. Completion is mandatory before the business may begin operating.
  2. Ongoing and Replacement Training: If key individuals like the Operating Principal, Manager, or Authorized Care Providers leave, their replacements must complete the training within 30 days. Pause charges a fee of $500 per day for this additional training.
  3. Operational Training: The training ensures that those responsible for managing the studio—franchisee, Operating Principal, or Manager—are fully capable of leading daily operations and maintaining compliance with brand standards.
  4. Instructional Materials and Support: Training is led by experienced team members and supported by a comprehensive Manual with over 240 pages. Additional field visits and ongoing guidance are provided at the franchisor's discretion.

Territory Protection

Pause provides franchisees with a non-exclusive “Designated Territory,” typically a three-mile radius or area with around 100,000 residents. Within this territory, no other Pause studio will be opened as long as the franchisee complies with the agreement.

However, Pause may still sell products or services in the territory through online platforms, third parties, or non-traditional venues like gyms or hotels. The franchisor also retains the right to launch similar businesses under different branding.
