Training

Degree Wellness provides a structured and multi-layered training program to ensure franchisees operate in alignment with the brand’s standards and systems. The franchisor emphasizes both foundational and ongoing training for franchisees and their teams. The training programs include the following:

1. Initial Training Program: This consists of two components—Business Training and Studio Opening Training. Business Training occurs at a designated corporate facility (typically in Ann Arbor, Michigan) and includes classroom, virtual, and in-studio training. Up to two people may attend without extra charge, and additional attendees require approval and payment of tuition.
2. Studio Opening Training: Conducted at the franchisee’s studio, this practical, on-site training ensures proper implementation of operations before opening. It complements the classroom component and helps the team apply business knowledge in the actual environment.
3. Ongoing and Supplemental Training: Degree Wellness reserves the right to conduct ongoing mandatory or optional training programs on topics such as new equipment, services, or operational updates. Attendance may be required for the franchisee, owners, managers, and staff, with tuition and all travel-related costs borne by the franchisee.

Territory Protection

Degree Wellness provides its franchisees with a designated "Protected Territory" in which no other Degree Wellness Studio can be established by the franchisor or its affiliates, provided the franchisee complies with all agreement terms.

The territory is usually based on demographic factors and population—typically around 100,000 people—and is defined in writing at the time of agreement or upon site approval. The franchisee may operate only from a location within this Protected Territory and must receive franchisor approval before relocating the studio.

While this territorial protection exists, it is not exclusive in all respects. Other Degree Wellness franchisees and company-owned studios may still market and sell services to customers within another franchisee’s territory using various channels like social media, internet, or telemarketing.
