Paisano's Pizza Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Paisano’s Pizza is a restaurant franchise offering traditional hand-tossed pizzas, pasta, subs, and wings for takeout, dine-in, and delivery, serving families and local neighborhoods, and known for family recipes, dough quality, and strong community ties.

Paisano’s Pizza is a fast-casual Italian franchise specializing in pizza, pasta, subs, wings, salads, and other delivery or carryout dishes. The first Paisano’s restaurant opened in June 1998 in the Shoppes at Fair Lakes in Fairfax, Virginia. The brand is headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, and operates under the Capital Restaurant Group.

Paisano’s began offering franchise opportunities around 2009. Since then, it has grown steadily and now operates over 30 locations across the United States.

What makes Paisano’s Pizza stand out is its commitment to freshness and quality. The franchise takes pride in preparing its dough, sauces, and many menu items from scratch each day, avoiding frozen or pre-made ingredients.

Training

The training provided by Paisano’s Pizza to its franchisees includes the following structured programs:

  1. Initial Training Program
Franchisees receive an initial training program for up to three individuals. This training takes place at the franchisor’s headquarters, in-store, and may include online modules. It is designed to prepare the franchisee and key staff in all critical operational areas of the restaurant.
  2. Additional Staff Training
If the franchisee chooses to train more than three staff members or needs to train new or replacement employees later, they must pay an additional fee per person. This ensures all employees meet operational standards.
  3. Opening Assistance
Around the restaurant’s opening, up to two representatives from Paisano’s provide on-site support for five days. Their role is to help launch operations smoothly and maintain brand consistency. Franchisees are responsible for reimbursing any associated travel and accommodation expenses.

Territory Protection

Paisano’s Pizza provides a limited form of territory protection to its franchisees, though it does not offer exclusive territories. Each Franchise Agreement may define a “Designated Territory,” typically based on factors like population and urban density, and described by radius, zip codes, or specific boundaries.

While the franchisor agrees not to establish or license another Paisano’s Pizza within this defined territory during the term of the agreement, this protection does not extend to all types of operations or distribution channels.

Despite the existence of a Designated Territory, franchisees may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, and brands or distribution channels controlled by the franchisor. For example, non-traditional locations like airports, schools, or ghost kitchens within the territory are not protected, and the franchisor may operate or license others in those locations.
