Manhattan Pizza is a pizzeria franchise offering New York-style pies, slices, wings, and subs, serving neighborhoods and campus areas, and known for hand-tossed dough, generous portions, and fast, friendly service.

Manhattan Pizza is a fast-casual pizzeria brand that brings authentic New York-style pizza to communities across the United States. Founded in 1997 with its flagship location in Ashburn, Virginia, the brand is now headquartered in Ashburn, VA.

The concept offers a broad menu — from thin-crust New York-style pizzas, specialty pies, fresh salads, hot sandwiches, and wings — all served in a welcoming dine-in environment or via take-out and delivery.

Franchise opportunities began around 2013, expanding a proven model built on disciplined operations, consistent food quality, and strong customer focus.

What sets Manhattan Pizza apart is its combination of genuine New York pizza heritage with modern convenience and community orientation. Training

Manhattan Pizza offers a multi-component training program to prepare franchisees and their managers for the successful operation of their restaurants. The training is structured into several key programs:

  1. Introductory Training Program: This mandatory program lasts approximately three weeks and includes both classroom and on-the-job instruction. Franchisees and their managers must complete the training at Manhattan Pizza’s designated location, typically in Northern Virginia. Topics covered include store operations, cook training, HR orientation, and cashier procedures, totaling 26 hours of classroom training and 94 hours of practical instruction.
  2. Initial Training Program (System Training): Conducted at no additional charge for up to two individuals, this program covers Manhattan Pizza’s systems, operational policies, and brand standards. It is a prerequisite for opening a location, and managers must complete it to the franchisor’s satisfaction. If a new manager is appointed later, they must also attend this training, with a $200 per day fee plus travel and lodging.
  3. Additional On-Site Assistance: Upon request, the franchisor offers on-site operational support for an added fee of $200 per day, plus expenses. This is especially useful for pre-opening preparation or addressing specific operational challenges.

Territory Protection

Manhattan Pizza grants franchisees a defined Protected Area where no other Manhattan Pizza outlets will be opened or licensed during the initial term. The size and boundaries are based on geographic or population factors and detailed in Addendum 1 of the franchise agreement.

This protection can change upon renewal, transfer, or if the franchisee defaults.

However, Manhattan Pizza retains the right to sell products online, through retail, or use other brands—even within the Protected Area. Franchisees also have no right of first refusal for additional units and must get approval for relocation or external marketing.
