Code Wiz is a coding and robotics education franchise for children. Franchisees benefit from training, marketing tools, and a business model that fosters tech learning and creativity in young students.

Established in 2017 by Ruth Agbaji, a software engineer driven by the mission to inspire young minds through technology, the brand is headquartered in Westford, Massachusetts.

In response to the rising demand for STEM programs, Code Wiz launched its franchising initiative in 2019, allowing the brand to grow and extend its educational impact nationwide.

The franchise delivers a wide array of engaging programs, from coding courses and robotics workshops to interactive summer camps.

Code Wiz stands out in the industry thanks to its individualized learning model, where each student progresses at their own pace with the support of experienced instructors. Training

Code Wiz provides a comprehensive training framework designed to prepare franchisees and their teams for successful operation.

  1. Initial Training Program: This mandatory program must be completed by the Managing Owner and a designated manager before opening. It typically involves classroom and on-the-job training, either in person at the designated facility or remotely via web-based conferencing. The program covers essential operational procedures and must meet the franchisor’s standards.
  2. Supplemental Training: Franchisees may request additional training, or it may be required by the franchisor if operational standards are not met or when new managers are hired. This training can be conducted at the franchisee’s location or remotely, with fees applied per trainer per day, along with travel and accommodation costs if applicable.
  3. System-Wide and Refresher Training: The franchisor may periodically require franchisees to attend system-wide training courses or seminars to ensure continued compliance and updates with the brand’s evolving standards. These sessions help maintain high-quality service across all franchise locations.

Territory Protection

Code Wiz grants franchisees a defined territory but does not provide full exclusivity. While the franchisor agrees not to open or license another Code Wiz Retail Learning Center within the designated territory during the agreement term, this protection only applies if the franchisee remains in compliance.

Franchisees should expect to compete with other Code Wiz outlets located outside their territory and through various distribution channels. The franchisor retains extensive reserved rights, including the ability to sell products and services online, through retail stores, and other alternative channels within the territory.

This means that although no new physical learning centers will be opened within the territory, other forms of brand presence and competition are permitted. The agreement also clarifies that no compensation is provided to franchisees when the franchisor or its affiliates conduct business within their territory through these alternative methods.
