Training

Ben’s Barketplace offers a comprehensive, structured training program to prepare franchisees for successful operation. The training programs are as follows:

  1. Initial Training Program
The Initial Training Program is mandatory and conducted in Roseville, California, or another location designated by the franchisor. It includes both classroom and practical instruction covering brand standards, operations, sales techniques, marketing, customer relations, and quality standards. This program is provided for up to three attendees at no charge, provided all attend at the same time, and must be completed at least 30 days before the store opening.
  2. Pre-Opening Training Program
Franchisees and their Designated Managers must also complete a five-day Pre-Opening Training Program at the franchise location, immediately before and after the Opening Date. If further training is deemed necessary, the franchisor may require attendance at an extended version, with a daily fee of $600 plus travel expenses.
  3. Additional Training
The franchisor may require franchisees to attend refresher courses or training for new personnel. Fees for additional training are $3,000 per person for initial training, $300 per day per attendee for additional training, and $600 per day for training conducted at the franchise location.

Territory Protection

Ben’s Barketplace provides its franchisees with a protected territory, typically structured as a geographic area within a five-mile radius around the approved store location.

This territory is determined based on various factors, including population density, demographics, and market conditions. Once assigned, the franchisor will not alter the franchisee’s territory during the agreement term without written consent, and will not establish or authorize another Ben’s Barketplace location using the brand’s marks within that territory.

However, this territory is not entirely exclusive, especially regarding delivery services and marketing rights. The franchisor reserves the right to change, reduce, or eliminate a franchisee’s delivery area at any time without compensation, and even allow others to offer delivery services within that zone.
