BeeHive Homes is a senior-care franchise specializing in assisted living, memory care, and respite care services. Founded in 1987 in Boise, Idaho, the company is headquartered in Boise, Idaho. It manages smaller, residential-style homes that prioritize comfort and personalized care over institutional settings.
The brand began franchising in 1996 after nearly a decade of operational experience. BeeHive Homes became one of the first franchises to offer assisted living within a small-scale, home-like model. Since then, it has grown to over 160 locations in 19 states, serving thousands of residents across the country.
BeeHive Homes provides essential senior living services including 24-hour care, housekeeping, home-cooked meals, medication assistance, and social activities. Its homes typically feature around 16 private bedrooms and are designed to feel intimate and familiar, making transitions easier for seniors and their families.
Here's what you would need to invest if you were to start this franchise. These costs are provided by the franchisor in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
Bee Hive Homes offers a structured training program to ensure franchisees are well-prepared to operate their residential care homes. Here are the key components of the training provided by the franchisor:
Bee Hive Homes grants a protected area around each franchise location but does not offer an exclusive territory. The franchisee is allowed to operate a single home at an approved address, and the franchisor agrees not to establish another Bee Hive Homes-branded location within a surrounding area that includes a population of at least 30,000 people without the franchisee’s written consent.
However, the protected area is not a fixed-radius zone and may vary depending on the local geography and demographics. Although this arrangement limits the establishment of competing Bee Hive Homes within the specified population area, it does not prevent competition from other franchisees or businesses operating under different trademarks.
Franchisees are free to solicit residents from outside their immediate area and use various marketing channels, subject to franchisor approval. The franchisor does not currently operate company-owned homes and has no plans to franchise under different brand names offering similar services.
