Training 

Bandag equips its franchisees with comprehensive training programs that encompass the following components:

Pre-Opening Training: Prior to launching the dealership, Bandag offers extensive training covering the key aspects of setting up and managing the dealership. This includes year-round Certified Retread Technician Training and additional training as needed, such as equipment installation.

Coordinated by the Bridgestone Commercial Training Group, these programs are held at the BCS Education Center in LaVergne, Tennessee, and are also available online through the Bridgestone and Firestone Education Network. The training format includes e-learning, videos, instructor-led courses, and mentoring materials focused on Retread Plant Management.

Mandatory Training for Plant Personnel: Before commencing production, all personnel at each Retread Facility must complete mandatory training programs approved by Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. This includes certification as a Retread Technician, with a Certified Retreading Technician required to be present at all times during production.

Additionally, all repair technicians must undergo Certified Repair Training, which is mandatory and must be completed before the Production Facility opens.

Territory Protection

Bandag provides territory protection to its franchisees. This means that within a designated area, a Bandag franchisee has certain exclusive rights to operate without competition from other Bandag franchise locations.

This type of protection ensures that franchisees can focus on building their customer base and growing their business without the immediate threat of internal competition.

The exact details of the territorial rights and boundaries are typically outlined in the franchise agreement and can vary depending on the specific terms negotiated between the franchisee and Bandag​.
