Training

Athletes HQ provides a structured and comprehensive training program for franchisees and their designated personnel, covering all operational facets of the facility.

  1. Initial Training Program: The franchisor offers an initial training program for the franchisee and up to two additional people. This training spans 10 days and is held at the corporate headquarters in Elgin, Illinois, via virtual platforms, and on-site at the franchisee’s facility. The curriculum includes operations, bookkeeping, inventory, and local marketing. Completion is mandatory at least one month and no more than two months before the facility opens.
  2. Onsite and Virtual Training: This comprises two to three days at headquarters and one to two days onsite. These sessions provide hands-on learning relevant to real-time business setup and functioning.
  3. Refresher and Supplemental Training: Franchisees are required to attend additional programs or conventions provided by the franchisor to maintain up-to-date practices and brand consistency.
  4. Training Program Content: Key areas include instructor management, advertising/marketing, products, lessons, and camp/clinic training. Each segment includes both classroom and on-the-job components.

Territory Protection

Athletes HQ grants franchisees a defined territory, typically ranging from 10 to 20 miles, based on geographic and population factors. Within this designated area, the franchisor agrees not to establish or license another AHQ facility, provided the franchisee remains in compliance with their agreement.

However, this territory is not exclusive in the traditional sense, as the franchisee may still face competition from other franchisees or company-owned outlets. Although Athletes HQ will not alter a franchisee's territorial boundaries without consent, they do reserve the right to engage in direct sales within the territory through alternative channels such as the internet, telemarketing, or catalog sales.

Franchisees receive no compensation for these sales and are prohibited from using such channels themselves. Additionally, franchisees are not granted any right of first refusal or option to develop additional facilities in the same or nearby areas.
