Training

VARA Juice provides a detailed training structure to ensure franchisees and their staff can effectively run the franchise in line with brand standards. The training consists of the following components:

  1. Initial Training Program
VARA Juice offers an initial training program to both a Designated Owner and a General Manager at no cost. This training must be completed at least 30 days before opening and is held at a designated VARA Juice location or the franchisor’s offices in Southeastern Michigan.
  2. Opening Assistance
The franchisor assigns a representative to assist at the franchise location for up to one week around the time of opening. This support includes hands-on staff training and help with initial operations.
  3. Employee Training Responsibility
Franchisees are responsible for implementing a continuous training program for all staff. Employees must complete all parts of the training program, and those who refuse or fail cannot be employed.
  4. Additional and Ongoing Training
The Designated Owner or General Manager must attend any additional training or sales programs required by the franchisor. Franchisees bear the costs, including travel, wages, and lodging, and may also be charged a training fee.
  5. Retraining and Replacement Training
If a General Manager or Designated Owner is replaced, the new person must attend training. The franchisee must cover all associated expenses for this retraining at current rates.

Territory Protection

VARA Juice grants its franchisees a “Protected Area,” typically defined as a one-mile radius from the front door of the franchise location. Within this area, and as long as the franchisee is in good standing, the franchisor agrees not to open or authorize another VARA Juice restaurant.

However, this protection is limited strictly to restaurant locations and does not provide exclusivity over marketing or customers in the area. Despite this protection, VARA Juice retains the right to authorize operations in special venues within the Protected Area, such as hospitals, universities, military bases, office buildings, and even ghost kitchens.

The franchisor also reserves broad rights to operate or license similar or different businesses under other trademarks both inside and outside the Protected Area. Franchisees are not given exclusive rights for catering, online sales, or digital marketing unless specifically approved in writing.
