Established in 1999 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tippi Toes was created by Sarah Nuse with a vision to bring the joy of dance to young children. A decade later, in 2009, the brand began franchising, steadily growing its presence to more than 70 locations nationwide.
Tippi Toes provides engaging dance instruction for kids ranging from 18 months to 12 years old, offering styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop.
What makes their program especially convenient is that classes are held in familiar, local settings—like daycares, schools, and community centers—making it easier for families to participate.
What truly sets Tippi Toes apart is its exclusive curriculum. With original music and choreography tailored for young dancers, the program creates a vibrant and distinctive learning environment that not only teaches technique but also cultivates a genuine passion for movement and self-expression.

Tippi Toes provides franchisees with a well-rounded training program aimed at preparing them for all operational aspects of the business. The training is structured into several components, each serving a distinct purpose.
Initial Training Program This training includes a two-and-a-half-day field trip conducted within 30 days of starting the business. It covers marketing, advertising, sales strategies, finding class venues, and developing a business and marketing plan. The training is waived for those who have previously operated a Tippi Toes franchise.
Orientation and Operations Training Initial orientation includes a comprehensive overview of Tippi Toes’ history, mission, and business structure. Franchisees receive access to training and operations manuals and are trained on all key systems including class structures, marketing, technology, and merchandise.

Territory Protection
Tippi Toes grants franchisees a “Protected Territory,” typically defined by ZIP codes or a territory map, covering a population of up to 300,000. During the term of the agreement, the franchisor agrees not to establish or license another Tippi Toes business within this territory, provided the franchisee remains compliant with all agreement terms.
The territorial rights are not dependent on sales volume or market penetration but do require consistent royalty payments.
Despite the territorial protections, the franchisee does not receive exclusivity from all forms of competition. Tippi Toes reserves the right to engage in sales within the protected territory through other channels, including internet, telemarketing, and catalog sales.
