Sweet & Sassy Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Sweet & Sassy is a beauty-retail and salon franchise offering tween-targeted hair, makeup and spa services, serving pre-teen and teen girls plus families, and known for fun theme décor, age-appropriate offerings and community event-friendly model.

Sweet & Sassy is a kid-centered salon, spa, and party venue that first opened its doors in 2004 in Southlake, Texas. The brand was launched after founder Dixie Drake-Clarke recognized that traditional children’s salons often felt plain and lacked the excitement young clients were looking for.

Her idea was to build a lively, confidence-boosting destination where children could enjoy stylish haircuts, fun mini-spa services, ear piercing, and themed celebrations in a glamorous setting created specifically for them.

The company operates from its headquarters in Colleyville, Texas and began offering franchise opportunities in 2005. Since then, Sweet & Sassy has grown into multiple states throughout the U.S.

Focused mainly on young girls, the franchise provides a wide mix of services—including haircut packages, makeover experiences, birthday parties, and a selection of retail items such as accessories and beauty products.

What sets Sweet & Sassy apart is its all-in-one model. By blending salon services, spa treatments, retail shopping, and party experiences in one location, it creates a fully immersive environment rather than a stand-alone salon.

Training

The Sweet & Sassy franchise offers a comprehensive training program to prepare franchisees and their staff for successful operations. Below is a breakdown of the training provided by the franchisor:

  1. Initial Training Program: The franchisor provides an initial training program that must be completed by the franchisee and their General Manager (or an alternate designated individual). This training must be completed before the business begins operations. The training is held at a location designated by the company, and while there is no fee for the first two attendees, additional training may incur fees.
  2. Opening Assistance: The franchisor sends an operations specialist for three to five days to assist with both pre-opening and post-opening tasks. This support includes supervision and hands-on guidance to ensure the store launches smoothly and operates according to company standards.
  3. Employee Training by Franchisee: The franchisee is responsible for training their staff on customer service, the use and display of company trademarks, and the handling of confidential materials. Employees must be adequately trained to maintain high service standards and uphold the brand’s image.

Territory Protection

Sweet & Sassy grants franchisees a Designated Area in which they are authorized to operate, but this does not constitute an exclusive territory. Franchisees may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned stores, or businesses under different brands, even within their own Designated Area.

The franchisor retains broad rights to open other outlets and distribute products through various channels, including inside the Designated Area.

Furthermore, Sweet & Sassy specifically excludes “Captive Markets” from the Designated Area, such as airports, malls, or entertainment venues. The franchisor also reserves the right to market and sell to customers within a franchisee’s territory through catalogs, websites, or other direct channels.
