ManageMowed Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

ManageMowed is a sustainable commercial landscaping franchise. Offering lawn care and property management services. Providing eco-friendly solutions for visually appealing outdoor spaces.

ManageMowed brings a fresh take to the commercial landscaping industry, offering businesses a streamlined and efficient approach to outdoor maintenance. Launched in 1999 in Seattle, Washington, the brand began franchising two decades later in 2019 and now operates from its headquarters in Edmonds, Washington.

Specializing in services tailored for commercial properties, ManageMowed delivers routine landscape care, seasonal upgrades, irrigation system checkups, tree and shrub upkeep, and snow management. Their focus is on creating curb appeal and maintaining professionalism for business exteriors year-round.

A major differentiator for the brand is its innovative use of a subcontractor-based model. Rather than investing in equipment or managing a direct labor force, franchisees concentrate on building strong client relationships and coordinating with a trusted network of third-party service providers.

Training

ManageMowed provides a comprehensive suite of training programs for its franchisees. These programs are structured to ensure both new and existing franchise operators and their staff are well-prepared to uphold the company’s standards. The training includes:

  1. Pre-Opening Training Program
This is mandatory for the Managing Owner, Account Manager, Training Director, and Assistant Account Manager. It includes web-based modules, a three-week workbook, and possibly additional assignments. Completion and certification are required before the business can open.
  2. In-Market Training
For first-time franchisees, a representative from ManageMowed will visit the business during its first 30 days to provide up to five days of on-site training at no extra cost to the franchisee.
  3. Train the Trainer Program
Franchisees must appoint a Training Director, who must complete the franchisor's training. This director will be responsible for training other staff, subject to the franchisor’s periodic evaluations and approvals.
  4. Additional Training Programs
ManageMowed may require staff to participate in further classroom, online, or third-party training sessions. The franchisee is responsible for the associated fees, including travel and accommodations.

Territory Protection

ManageMowed provides its franchisees with a defined territory; however, it does not offer complete exclusivity.

The franchisor agrees not to operate or license another ManageMowed business providing commercial landscaping services within a franchisee’s territory during the agreement term, as long as the franchisee is not in material default. This commitment gives franchisees a degree of territorial protection for their commercial service operations.

However, the franchisor reserves several rights that limit full exclusivity. For example, it can distribute products bearing its marks through any channel, including online or wholesale, and even operate other businesses using the same branding for non-commercial purposes, such as residential services.
