Magnolia Soap and Bath Co

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co offers handcrafted soaps, bath products, and skincare items, providing natural and luxurious options for personal care.

Magnolia Soap & Bath Co. is a plant-based bath and body retail franchise founded in New Albany, Mississippi, in 2018 by Magen Bynum.

Headquartered on West Bankhead Street in New Albany, the company operates over 50 family-owned stores nationwide and sells handcrafted soaps, bath bombs, skincare, laundry products, home goods, pet products, and hosts interactive events. The brand began franchising in 2021.

Magnolia sets itself apart through in-store sensory experiences like soap- and candle-making parties, flexible store formats (typically 1,200 to 1,500 square feet), and multiple sales channels, including same-day delivery, online affiliate sales, and subscription boxes.

The franchise emphasizes clean beauty by using domestically-sourced, plant-based, phthalate-free ingredients. Magnolia also supports local communities through its “Hope in Soap” program, which donates proceeds to charitable causes each month—enhancing brand loyalty and community impact.

Training

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. provides several structured training programs to support franchisees in operating their businesses successfully:

  1. Initial Management Training Program: Franchisees, including their principals and general manager, must attend and satisfactorily complete this program. It takes place between two to six weeks prior to the business opening and consists of both remote (virtual) and in-person training at the franchisor’s headquarters or a designated outlet. Tuition applies for up to two individuals, and franchisees are responsible for associated travel and living expenses.
  2. Opening Assistance Training: A trained representative from the franchisor will be on-site for two days to provide hands-on training, supervision, and support during the business's opening. This is offered at no cost.
  3. Additional Training: Mandatory and optional programs may be offered throughout the year. If required, franchisees must attend:
    • Up to 12 days of ongoing training annually.
    • A national business meeting or conference for up to five days.
Franchisees bear all related costs including tuition, travel, lodging, and meals.

Territory Protection

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. offers its franchisees an exclusive territory, meaning that no other dedicated Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. outlets will be allowed to open within the defined area, as long as the franchisee remains in good standing with their Franchise Agreement.

The territory is tailored individually based on factors such as local demographics and is formally identified in the Franchise Agreement. This exclusivity is not contingent on any sales minimums or performance benchmarks during the term of the agreement.

However, this protection is limited in scope. Magnolia reserves the right to distribute its products through alternative channels such as salons, department stores, online platforms, and other retail outlets within the franchisee’s territory.
